Yes, and I wouldn’t even begin to guess what sort of illness she has.

Dreadful doddering old hag. Why doesn’t she just give up? (Not that we want her to at this point.) If she appears in front of people, everyone knows she’s weak. If she doesn’t appear at all, everyone assumes she’s weak. She’s at a lose-lose point in her career, I think.
