If Trump wanted this to be an issue in this campaign, he would have brought it up. I think he's said nothing on the subject since 2014. The way I see it, his reason for saying "Obama was born in the US, period" was to avoid the question for now, and to put the issue on Hillary and the press.
I believe that Trump's statement on this is about as sincere as his endorsement of Ryan and McCain. He's learning the political ropes very quickly!
Was Ted Cruz a natural born citizen?
CIA involvement is the press has been documented.
THE CIA AND THE MEDIA by Carl Bernstein.
See too, "Operation Mockingbird."
That's so depressing... I was just guessing...never wanted to be right on this one...
Rove is working for the Hillary Campaign, period. A$$hole Rove did not mention Trumps magnificent Friday event and neither did Monica. Shame!
Not vouching for the accuracy of that one, just ran into it while looking for a source I wanted to recommend. Also ran into Operation Mockingbird: CIA Media Manipulation, which has tons of links if you want to poke around on the subject.
The role of the press is to manipulate and misinform. You may recall my absence some years ago, during which time I obsessed over Senate activity. The difference between what the Senate was doing (which is misleading even when viewed directly and compared with the legislation under question) and the press representation of Senate activity is stunning.
Yeah, it's fuzzy, Panama was a protectorate (subject to US jurisdiction) and his US citizen parents were sent there by the US government.
I'd just as soon he wasn't.
Was Ted Cruz a natural born citizen?
HELL no, he wasn't even born here. And his father was a Cubanadian®. (as is he)
You didn't ask, but Rubio, Mia Love and Jindal are all anchor babies. I don't care which party they come from.
We should be able to come up with super-patriot Constitutional Einsteins who are both born here, and to citizen parents. It didn't used to be all that far-fetched.
(See: Eligibility...virtually all previous Presidents)
They used both jus sanguinis and jus solis to qualify him as a NBC
Did you miss the part about Obama in the Tribe-Olson opinion? Or the resolution issued by the Senate? S.Res. 511 (110th): A resolution recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen
HELL no, he wasn't even born here. And his father was a Cubanadian®. (as is he)
So how can you say the issue is resolved? It is not. We have 300,000 anchor babies born to illegal aliens annually. They receive birthright citizenship. Are they eligible to be President?
It is that seconf quote, by Morrison Waite*, upon which the anti-birthers all hang they’re hats.
They argue that because Obama was born in Hawaii, a state in the United States of America, to an American mother, he is a natural born citizen, and who his father was doesn’t matter.
You and I may disagree, but I do believe it is going to take another Supreme Court decision to rule one way or the other, and even so, the current times and politics will dictate the verdict more than the mindset of the Founding Fathers, sadly.
* I had to look him up. He was the 7th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, appointed by Ulysses S. Grant directly when all of his previous nominations resigned due to corruption! Moreover, I and Waite are distantly related, as in Colonial times, my family settled Connecticut (Roger Tyrrell, Milford, Connecticut, 1636).
Makes you wonder why FOX Snooze is following the CNN model? Even CNN allows pro Trump people on which is verboten for FOX.
Thanks. Do I get an award or a stipend of some kind? :-)
The most amazing thing I heard this morning was when Kellyanne Conway was slamming the media for focusing on this with everything else that was going on and Jake Tapper actually replied, “we, (the press), would be remiss if we let this go”.
the resolution issued by the Senate?
You know the resolution means nothing. They could pass a resolution that states the Sun rises in the West.
They receive birthright citizenship
That is also controversial and needs to be killed. Anchor babies and their parents are subject to the jurisdiction of their native country. Sen. Jacob Howard, author of the citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment, wrote:
This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers.
Are they eligible to be President?
No. The author considers them to be foreigners. Even though born here, their parents are not citizens. They are also citizens of the parents' nationality.
I been thinking about this birther thing all day and something is off here.
First, out of the blue all of a sudden the world is supposed to get excited about Trump’s brief association with birtherism? I don’t care that the press assholes assert that Trump hammered on this issue for the past five years.
He did not. Sure, once in a while he mentiond it but the guy was NOT running for president, at least not officially, and it wasn’t brought up that often. I’m a news junkee and over the past five years Trump has not been bombarding us with Obama and his birthplace.
Further, why is this even an issue in THIS campaign, an issue nobody’s been worrying about.
Nobody’s walked up to me and told me they want to vote for Trump but he’s driving them crazy with his birther stance so they cannot.
I think that the OBAMA people have inserted this meme into the campaign. And I think they did it especially to have Trump come out an admit that Obama is an American citizen.
Because as several of you have mentioned, this matter should be looked into AFTER the election, when Obama’s outta there. And when it is discovered, AT THAT TIME, the Obama’s birth is in question, then censure the man, remove him from history and void every legislative action he took.
But instead of risking this, the Obama people wanted to get it out of Trump’s mouth that he accepts Obama’s citizenship so should the matter come up AFTER Obama’s gone, the press and liberals can hoot and holler like monkeys that Trump admitted Obama’s legality.....nanannie nannie boo boo.
I mean how is it insulting to question the president’s citizenship and place of birth? Goodness knows Obama’s background is mighty suspect, hell I am not convinced he’s legal so far as his birth is concerned.
This makes me a racist?
Something not quite right about all of this.
It’s actually quite simple what’s going on with this birther thing.
Trump is making headway in the black community and this scares the living sh*t out of the media/hillary.
It’s all about keeping the racist charges alive. If this is the best they have....we should all be smiling right now.
We used to do a top ten years ago but everyone got too busy.It was lot of fun we had thousand post threads from time to time almost always 500 posts.
Everyone needs to carry that part of obama’s book with them when they are interviewed.
How is questioning Obama’s citizenship status racist?
Goodness McCain’s status was questioned as was Ted Cruz’.
It’s not about black and white.
Which is not to dismiss your assertion. I suspect you’re right, that the goal here is to keep Trump on target as a racist but they’re really pushing it here.
And why on earth would the media even go there? Yet all day all we hear is that Trump is a birther.
Makes no logic.
That’s a mighty handsome badge there.....
