Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) denied Friday that George W. Bush won Florida in the 2000 presidential election, saying Al Gore won it and the Supreme Court elected Bush to the presidency.
MSNBC reporter Hallie Jackson did not push back on Schultzs claim. In fact, she agreed. Bush won the state by an official tally of 537 votes after a prolonged recount period that eventually went to the Supreme Court.
.
.
"The Supreme Court elected the president," Schultz said. "Al Gore won the state of Florida in 2000, although not the presidency."

George W Bush won EVERY SINGLE STATEWIDE RE-COUNT. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
That is the fact.
In spite of all the fraud the Rats attempted.
Even the New York Times (spit) conceded that GWB won Florida.
What DWS doesn’t say, nor will ManBearPig admit, is if he had only won his *home state* he would have been president.
Hmmm - little Debbie, “Drugs are bad, mkay?”
Little Debbie’s regret: “If we just could have kept the Republicans locked out of the counting room for 10 more minutes...”
At least two newspapers did an extensive after-the-fact recount of every ballot in Florida. Bush WON that state. They buried the results when it didn’t go their way.
And according to my memory he never trailed during the time when the regular count was coming in either. No back and forth that you might expect if it was that close.
Whether Gore “actually won” Florida or not is irrelevant, because it was impossible to determine in a fair, reproducible way AND the ultimate authority, which was the Florida Legislature NOT the Florida Supreme Court was strongly pro-Bush.
The expansion of USSC authority to include elections, which are exercises of popular sovereignty and which have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JUDICIAL BRANCH AT ANY LEVEL was both unnecessary and unfortunate.
This is why people are happy to reject the MSM, and why Trump has been running against it.
Occasionally you'll here something true, like who won last night's basketball game, but in general most of what is said on CNN, MSNBC, and their ilk, or by someone with a "D" after their name is just fiction.
Hey Debbie! Wasn’t the Moon Landing faked?
cbs and the other alphabets called Florida before the polls closed and idiots in the panhandle went home.
You never not vote!!
The only reason they tell the truth about basketball scores is they haven’t figured out a way to lie about them. I’m sure it irks them to have to tell the truth about anything, but in sports reporting they are stuck with it.
Notice they have figured out a way to lie about the weather.
I guess debbie’s found no takers for that vacant space between her ears.
I remember, too, that the media prematurely announced that the polls in FL were closed, when statewide they weren’t bc of the Panhandle time zone difference. Total setup. That the most conservative part of the state.
Schultz is the poster child for transgenderism.
She is a Louis Farrakhan Nation of Islam Marxist thug black man trapped in a pasty-white Jewish woman’s body.
Well, if she wants to play that game then Bernie “won” the Democratic nomination.
Just sayin....
The REAL LESSON from the 2000 election (and 2004, 2008, and 2012, for that matter) is that the Republican campaign’s target was to get 50.1% of the vote (popular and EV). Well, they (we) just barely got it both in 2000 and 2004, and our (non) accomplishments after such close victories showed.
Trump’s going for a victory of at least 55%, maybe close to 60%. Things will be MUCH DIFFERENT, and MUCH BETTER under Trump, both because of his margin of victory and because he means business.
