After almost two years in recession, the country's rainy day fund has shrunk to just $32.2 billion this month, according to the Russian Finance Ministry. It was $91.7 billion in September 2014, just before oil prices started to collapse.

And it's getting worse. Analysts expect the fund will shrink to just $15 billion by the end of this year and dry up completely soon after that.

Good, but I’ll bet that most bought the Obama/MSM line that Putin was the aggressor.

Anyone know how they manage their currency?

Why not just print money? Works great for a while.

I’m not mocking you. You are just ensnared in a theological mistake. BTW, no one denies the possibility of more war in the ME. After all, most of the region is in conflict now.

That war you speak of was spoken of over 2,500 years ago.

The alliances spoken of are ironically alive and well today. Russia, Iran, Turkey, all making nice now and aligned together. Along with a host of other players.

You and your like minded friends are just fulfilling 2 Peter 3-7. Most “Christians” think like you anyways. I’m used to it ;)

But most evangelicals think like you. And I’m used to that ;-) Have a great evening and weekend.

There is a rumor circulating in some quarter of E. Asia that Russia may cut a deal with Japan: giving back two Northern Islands, which Russia took from Japan, in return for large sum of Japanese money.

Odds are the price of oil will scoot right back up to at least $65-$70 as soon as the election here is over at which time their rainy day fund will start growing again.

Meanwhile, the US will be digging itself deeper into debt and doesn't even have a "rainy day" fund.

“Washington has no rainy day fund”

Our “rainy day fund” is in China.

Invasions cost money. Funding terrorism is cheap and more effective.

CNN reduced to concern trolling Russia...

I guess it’s appropriate given the dumpster their ratings have fallen into

Well, look at it this way: how much (in square miles) has the U.S. expanded in the past couple of decades, versus Russia?

That only works if people want to hold your currency. Who wants to hold rubles?

Wow! Does that mean we can’t print money forever here in the USA. ;-)
