ALL bacterial pneumonia is contagious to one degree or another. There’s not such thing as non-contagious bacterial pneumonia.

From what I see on the Internet, that's true.

I also see that bacterial pneumonia may not be contagious throughout the course of the disease, and is less likely to be contagious after treatment begins.

If the whole story isn't a lie, then they're at least bending the truth here to make it sound like the illness wasn't as serious as it is and her conduct wasn't as reckless as it appeared.
