But a campaign spokeswoman confirmed that Trump handed Dr. Oz a one-page summary of the physical exam he underwent last week.

He had a one page summary before. How will this differ?

The physical was conducted by Dr. Harold N. Bornstein, the same doctor who previously said Trump would if elected be the healthiest president in history.

Since when does a gastroenterologist perform a routine physical?

Not unusual for a specialist to perform a routine physical.

A buddy of mine goes to several specialists and they all do the routine physical and tests AND order special tests associated with their specialty.

My GP is a diabetes specialist. I do not, nor ever have had diabetes. Still he does all the exams and interprets all the routine wellness tests. I am very comfortable with that and pleased with my Dr.

BTW I get results on a one page summary that includes office and lab results.

Bornstein is also an Internist. Nothing unusual about that.

Most physicians are internists with a specialty such as oncology, cardiology, hematology, endocrinology, gastroenterology = they do a routine physical and refer to a specialist or treat a condition within their specialty.

From prior work experience in medical practices.

“Since when does a gastroenterologist perform a routine physical?”

When asked?

The physicals I get as retired military consist of a PA looking at my blood work for 15 seconds and going, “You look OK”. If the PA wants to look extra thorough, he/she will pretend to listen to my lungs for another 15 seconds.

Including small talk, my physicals last about 5 minutes...and I haven’t seen an MD since I retired in 2008.

Mine does. She’s the best doctor I’ve ever had.

Extremely thorough and a great diagnostician.

Since when does a gastroenterologist perform a routine physical?

My doctor is an oncologist, but I've never had cancer. Not yet. He does routine practice in addition to oncology.

“Since when does a gastroenterologist perform a routine physical?”

That’s exactly where some commentators on the left are going. The say that getting a physical from a specialist begs the question as to why he needed a specialist. Never mind Hillary’s secrecy which she will get away with unless she drops dead (a significant possibly).

“Since when does a gastroenterologist perform a routine physical?”

I’m pretty sure any MD is qualified to perform a routine physical.

Specialists like Gastoenterologists are MD’S and do full physicals like any other MD.

for years our family doctor was a gastro

of course our kids had pediatricians when they were little.

the one I use now for myself (my main doctor) is an endocrinologist and my wifes main doctor is a hemo (something?) he’s a blood doctor but is her physician as well.

It’s not that uncommon here in Chicago (maybe NY is the same) for a specialist to be your main doctor as well. Then if you need something else, if you have an HMO they give you a referral to another specialist. Ours is a PPO, so we can hop around to whoever we like without a referral. I guess it just depends on where you live maybe.

So OK I get that we are all free to like or dislike anyone we want. I’m fine with that. But it seems like all you do is make snarky, critical comments about Trump. I get it- you don’t like him & he’s not your guy. But I would still think you’d spend more time criticising Clinton considering you’re on a conservative news site. :/
