Republicans submit resolution to impeach IRS commissioner
Fox News ^

House conservatives revived a long-shot effort Tuesday to oust IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, formally introducing an impeachment resolution expected to see a vote by the end of the week.

Rep. John Fleming, R-La., a sponsor of the drive, offered the measure under special procedures that put the House on track to vote Thursday on the effort.

Conservatives say Koskinen hampered Congress' effort to investigate the IRS for tough assessments of Tea Party groups that sought tax exemptions several years ago. Koskinen denies that.

“For years the IRS has abused its power to target people based on their political views. Commissioner John Koskinen not only did nothing about it, but continued the trend of deception by deliberately keeping Congress and the American people in the dark,” Fleming said in a statement Tuesday. “To date no one has been held accountable and no one will unless we move forward with a resolution to require a vote on his impeachment.”

Wow, starting to get some guts there? Not so politically dangerous anymore? Get those jackals out of Congress and get those in who will do the right thing regardless of political expediency or political gain.

Yep,

Anyone who says we have three coequal branches of government doesn’t know what they are talking about.

“The outlines of Madison’s constitutional architecture are so familiar that even schoolchildren can recite them: not only rule of law and representative government, not just a bill of rights, but also the separation of the national government into three coequal branches, a bicameral Congress, and a concept of federalism that preserved authority in state governments, all of it designed to diffuse power, check factions, balance interests, and prevent tyranny by either the few or the many,” Obama, who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School, said in the 2006 book.

What a waste!

Impeach Obama. They're all doing what they're doing at his bidding.

Must be an election coming up, given they're ALL involved in the silencing of Tea Party groups.

WHY NOW?

If the GOP just did their job they wouldn’t need to be playing these games.

I do not believe the RINOs are going to go along...I believe they colluded with the Dems to stop conservatives and that they will work feverishly to stop that from being exposed.

Impeachment is not one of the ‘tsk-tsk’ resolutions.

The Senate might even convict. Not sure how the politics- which is all they care about- works for them.

I might be wrong, but I think there’s an election coming.

That’s the only possible explanation.

Token action with a token sacrifice and almost certainly no intent to follow through.

Pathetic. Better than nothing. But pathetic.

Thanks for referencing that article unixfox.

Unfortunately, since this is an election year, I’m skeptical of everything that our RINO-controlled Congress does. It has to be question if this is another election year dog-and-pony show.

Note that the Founding States made the first numbered clauses in the Constitution, Sections !-3 of Article I, to clarify that all federal legislative powers are vested in the elected members of Congress, not in the executive or judicial branches, or in non-elected bureaucrats running constitutionally undefined federal agencies like the EPA, IRS, EEOC and FAA as examples.

So Congress has a constitutional “monopoly” on federal legislative powers whether it wants it or not.

The problem with front-ending itself with constitutionally undefined, non-elected regulators is that it defeats the purpose of Sections 1-3 mentioned above imo. This is because citizens are not able to exercise their voting power to fire people who exercise unpopular, unconstitutional use of legislative / regulatory powers, such powers often 10th Amendment-protected state powers which the corrupt feds have stolen from the states.

Did you see what happened today? I watched the whole hearing. Pagliano didn’t even show up even though he was subpoenaed. The justice department had granted Pagliano immunity for some reason. The Committee had subpoenaed a copy of the document of immunity and they blatantly ignored that subpoena too. Combetta and Thornton showed up but plead the fifth on every question and then left. Only Mr. Cooper showed up and answered questions. He seemed low level and claimed he wasn’t privy to everything that went on. Still some of the answers he gave sounded very incriminating of the whole Clinton low budget server scandal. Some people need to be in jail right now. Of course every dimocrat on the committee yowled and ironically called it a ‘witch hunt’. Everyone should watch these hearings. It’s time consuming but it’s eye opening.

“Three former aides of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton refused to testify at a House Oversight & Government Reform Committee hearing on her staff’s preservation of her email records. Former State Deparment Information Resource Management Adviser Bryan Pagliano did not attend the hearing after being issued a subpoena. Committee Chair Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) said there will be consequences for Mr. Pagliano failing to attend. In addition, two specialists from Platte River Networks, the company that maintained the server after it was moved to a data center in New Jersey, appeared at the hearing but asserted their Fifth Amendment privileges. Justin Cooper, who set up Hillary Clinton’s email on a private server, was questioned by the committee on the security issues surrounding Ms. Clinton’s private email account.”
