I reluctantly watched George W. Bushs post-9/11 speech before a joint session of Congress. I say reluctantly because I cannot abide the posturing, pomposity, and wrong-headedness that are the usual ingredients of political speeches even speeches that follow events like the attack on Pearl Harbor and the atrocities of 9/11. (Churchills rallying speeches during World War II are another thing: masterworks of inspirational oratory.)
In any event, Bushs performance was creditable (thanks, no doubt, to his writers and ample preparation). And I found nothing to fault in what he said, inasmuch as I am a libertarian hawk. The vigorous and evidently sincere applause that greeted Bushs applause lines applause that arose from Democrats as well as Republicans seemed to confirm the prevailing view that Americans (or their political leaders, at least) were defiantly united in the fight against terrorism.
But I noted then, and have never forgotten, the behavior of Hillary Clinton, who was a freshman senator. Some of Clintons behavior is captured in this video clip, from 11:44 to 12: 14.
The segment opens with Bush saying: Terror unanswered can not only bring down buildings, it can threaten the stability of legitimate governments. And you know what, were not going to allow it.
The assemblage then rises in applause. The camera zooms to Hillary Clinton, who seems aware of it and stares at the camera briefly while applauding tepidly. (Compare her self-centered reaction with that of the noted camera-hog Chuck Shumer, who is standing next to her, applauding vigorously, and looking toward Bush.) Clinton then turns away from the camera and, while still applauding tepidly, directs a smirk at someone near her. I also noted but cannot readily find on video similar behavior, include eye-rolling, at the conclusion of Bushs speech...

I remember this event. I was so traumatized by 9/11, I recall being slightly irritated by her nastiness, but given that nearly everyone else was being kind, I did my best to ignore the behavior.
I do remember she was BOOED loudly when she took to the stage at the 9/11 concert.
Of course no one ever points out that 9/11 would not have happened if the Clinton administration had accepted Osama bin Laden when the government of the Sudan offered to hand him over.
WOW!!
Judge Jeanne fights back, eloquent, forceful, all correct.
Should create a thread of it. Best thing I’ve seen in a very long time.
Thank you, Judge, for giving voice to my feelings.
Not yet. Going to watch in a few.
And soon, the Clintons just nodded right off:
Partied too hard the night before?
Stoopid f’n cunt!
Thank you for the Jeanine Pirro link.
Google up “bojinka” and start reading.
As for “who knew?”, take note of who was president in those days.
I do remember that following that post-9/11 national unity, the first person to speak out negatively was Hillary Clinton. It was appalling.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
...and all of this just within the government!
“Can’t Understand New Technology” (see also, emails.)
yes, Bill Clinton passed up the chance to take Bin Laden from Sudan, and he also passed up chances to kill Bin Laden. Bill Clinton acted like Bin Laden was merely a tiny annoyance, and America paid dearly for that ignorance and incompetence.
Gee, something like a current POTUS dismissing ISIS as the “jv team” as they proceeded to take over much of Syria and Iraq while terrorizing a good portion of the globe.
The Clintoons and Obama need to be banished from our public life forever!!
She was shamed by the firefighters....ajd never forget one of our own...BCM....Battalion Chief Mike Moran died in the towers that day.
My wife, 4 y.o. daughter, and my 3 month old son and I were to fly on 9-12-01....a trip that never happened.
I flew a month later and as I stood at the Seattle-Tacoma Int. Airport witing to check my bags....
The P.A. system comes on and they begin paging “Mike Moran pick up the courtesy phone, Mike Moran....” then as if it was all planned...a luggage hauling trolley that ran beneath the floors shook the floor up and down lime God was saying “don’t forget them.”
I think that she is sure that her beliefs are the only correct beliefs and anyone who doesn’t see that must be, in some way, inferior or stupid. She really cannot understand that other people can have legitimate, but very different opinions.
And that is a very bad trait for a world leader, IMHO
Rush remarked on her behavior at the time, too.
Thanks for the link. What an awesome comeback! Thanks again!

Wow. She was the only person in that room who didn’t seem to care.
