A group of descendants of slaves sold by Georgetown University in 1838 was unsatisfied with the unprecedented steps the college took to accommodate them, and demanded partnership in a $1 billion foundation vaguely aimed at producing "reconciliation."
In 1838, amid dire financial trouble, Georgetown University sold off 272 slaves for $115,000 (over $3 million in today's dollars). Last week, the university's president, John DeGioia, announced Georgetown would offer special admissions preference for any of the descendants of those slaves, and he promised to build an on-campus memorial to the slaves and renamed a building after one of them. He also promised a public apology for the university's role in the slave trade.

Offering people unqualified to attend college a college education might be problematic, no?
Throughout history how many races and nationalities were sold into slavery or became slaves when they were conquered by the likes of Genghis Khan, the Pharohs of Egypt, the Romans and the list goes on. Every time a nation was conquered, the victors made slaves of the vanquished! How many Jews did Hitler slaughter? How many slaves in the US were killed?
Liberals would be well advised to read world history and the Bible for a change instead of Liberal propaganda.

That way, the ignorant don't learn about their ancestors' struggles, or that the ancestors were captured and sold into slavery by other black tribes of Africa.
Why? Georgetown did nothing illegal at the time, and there is a little thing in our Constitution about “ex post facto” laws.
Well that act of kindness came back to bite Georgetown’s do-gooders. Apparently, these “descendants” would rather have the cash than the education.

It would be a much better place if it were just shut down and given away - to these people or just about anybody except the Jesuits.
Not only did Georgetown do nothing illegal there is a good chance those slaves were bought by other blacks.
There were THOUSANDS of blacks who owned slaves. There were 3,000 in New Orleans alone. There were black slave breeders. They sold their own offspring.
And there were thousands of whites who never had a slave.
Let’s not forget the the man who took his indentured servant to court to have him made into a slave. He was black.
For American negroes, Barack Hussein Obama’s candidacy and presidency was and is ALL about reparations. Gotta bibsmedat befo he be gone!
