Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly passed away on Monday. She was 92.
Schlafly, the founder of Eagle Forum, rose to prominence in the 1960s when she wrote the book A Choice, Not an Echo, which sold more than three million copies. She was a leading voice of opposition against the Equal Rights Amendment, fighting to preserve traditional gender roles.
She wrote a total of 23 books, the most recent being an expanded edition of A Choice, Not an Echo. In March, Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for president.
Schafly was predeceased by her husband, John, and is survived by her six children.
RIP, Mrs. Schlafly.
Your passing is a blow to the conservative cause.
The light of political reality is a little dimmer now. Perhaps in her passing someone will carry her torch onward to expose the threats to our freedom and liberty lurking in the shadows.
RIP
A lovely lady has passed on to GOD. Rest In Peace.
Oh No! She was a very special person. I wish she could have been here to see Trump win.
RIP Phyllis, you will be sorely missed.
This IS just terrible she fought these NEVER TRUMPERS with ALL she had I am very sad right now didn’t know she was ill!!!
No it's not...if more than anything, she has solidified the Reagan coalition again, the three-legged stool.
She lived to be 92....nobody lives forever.
Now she’ll see the victory ... with Ronnie.
RIP
So sad. The grand matron of Conservatism has left us. I think she just had a book released. We need to win this one for her.
Great woman. Rest in peace. The haters on social media will pee themselves with glee, I’m sure.
She worked hard this last year. Bless her.
Great perspective!!!
She’ll be cheering President Trump on from heaven!!!
Just would have been wonderful to see her live to celebrate his election, especially since she did endorse him and made a gallant appearance at one of his rallies in St. Louis.
RIP—what a great lady.
You can always tell how effective a conservative icon was by the vile, hateful things libs say about them when they pass.
Phyllis Schlafly is a brilliant woman. She is another person I would like to meet and have an opportunity to shake her hand. Her life story is a compelling one, and it is no wonder to me that she is REVILED by the liberal left. It is difficult for any thinking person to take feminism seriously when Phyllis Schlafly is pitted against the likes of a vacuous boob like Gloria Steinhem.
May the angels sing her home
Goodbye Phyllis, see you in heaven.
She was a fighter to the end for her country, she will be missed - as she is already.
She rests from her labors, with her Father in heaven. Prayers for her family.
She WILL be missed!
