Literally one day after winning his primary, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) gave up on Donald Trump. In fact, McCain now sounds a bit like he's betting on Trump losing or, at least, looking like a loser for the rest of the campaign season to help him win a sixth term in the Senate.
In a gauzy, five-minute YouTube video released Wednesday, McCain looks directly at the camera and says: "My opponent, Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, is a good person. But if Hillary Clinton is elected president, Arizona will need a senator who will act as a check not a rubber stamp for the White House."

You’d think the dumb_ss Arizona Repblicans would have learned by now that McCain always says what they want to hear to get past elections and then goes back to his liberal ways. And Flake is his protege — but they haven’t learned that yet either.
The only way to rid us of McAmnesty is to vote for the Democrat.
It’s not that much of stretch, McCain is a Democrat in an R jersey.
“Uh, the alternative was Barack Obama....”
I did the same, and for the exact same reason. I had to convince my mind that I was not voting FOR McCain, but AGAINST Obuckwheat. And it was difficult.
My ulterior motive was, should McCain win, perhaps Palin could pop a button or two on her shirt and give the old bastard a heart attack.
Thank you AZHSer,
Once again the eGOP gives us a shiv in the back. And they wonder why we want Trump?
I hope he wins, but these arrogant B@$t@rd$ probably still not get the message that we want closed primaries, better moderators at the debates, etc etc.
It is time for the GOP to split.
I can't wait for it too happen frankly....
That’s okay McLame. We have another chance in November to NOT vote for you.
Stupid Arizonans voted for him in a Republican Primary!
Some of us are still trying to change it from within. I have been seriously thinking about running for County Chair. I will happily be a thorn in the side of Mr. Robert Graham (AzGOP Chair) and any other GOPers I have contact with. There are others at the precinct, county, and state levels that have been trying to get stuff changed but at this point a split is probably the only answer.
Term limits AND recall for each and every level of politicians and judges!
+1
And no retirement!
Like I’ve been saying for years, with the possible exception of Ted Kennedy, this man has to be the most despicable person in the Senate in my lifetime, and I’m 75 years old. The man’s character is so debauched it’s almost unimaginable.
Arizona voters are so damn stupid!
What they reveal by supporting this fraud is that they are getting some wonderful payback for doing so, which is far more important than something as nebulous to them as the well-being and security of America.
McCain is a lot like his drinking buddy Hillary. Both will morph into conservatives, if that’s what it takes to get elected. Once in office, they never think once about the people who were dumb enough to vote for them.
Trump would have been better server by saying McCain deserves our respect as a vet, especially so for those years he was a POW, but as a champion for the VA, he has been a failure (aka democrat). On the issue of immigration, McCain goes with his buddy Lindsey Graham on amnesty, yet campaigns on closing the border. McCain and his buddy Kasich are the prime examples of what is wrong with the GOP.
Thank you AZHSer.
It is so easy to blame when one doesn’t know the facts.
But I do understand the frustration of conservatives when AZ keeps returning McPain every 6 yrs.
We can get rid of Flake tho in a few years unless he has a come to J____ moment, gets his head out of McPains butt and starts representing the folks who sent him to help clean up this mess, not be a part of it.
