If ‘caucuses’ were something completely free, open, above board and not subject to wheedling, manipulation, maneuvering, outside money and influence and back room party politics you might have a point here, but the real point is that ethanol subsidies have no basis to exist that can be remotely connected to something ‘beneficial.’

Which is why the government is trying to mandate E-85 ethanol. At least you don’t have to worry whether or not it will damage a small or marine engine. It will.

Exactly. That's why it's so important to note that a principled conservative can take a stand against Ethanol and still win the Iowa caucuses, regardless of the voting rules.
