Jorge Ramos rips Mexican president for not standing up to Trump
The Hill ^ | August 31, 2016 | Jessie Hellmann

A prominent Mexican TV news anchor is blasting Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto for inviting Donald Trump to Mexico City.

Jorge Ramos, anchor for Univision and Fusion, criticized Peña Nieto for not holding Trump accountable for some of his previous rhetoric on illegal immigration and Mexican-Americans.

Instead, during a joint press conference in Mexico Wednesday, Peña affirmed that the two men would work together to end illegal immigration if Trump is elected president.

"What a poor, lukewarm and fearful response by [Nieto] before Trump," Ramos tweeted in Spanish Wednesday. Where is the indignation to Trump's insults?"

"Trump leaves Mexico without apologizing, without promising respect to Mexicans and without changing in any way his anti-immigrant platform," Ramos added.

In his remarks, Trump called for the end of the "humanitarian disaster" of illegal immigration, saying it "must be solved quickly."

It was a pivot from the day the bombastic billionaire began his primary campaign by declaring that Mexican illegal immigrants were rapists and criminals and saying, "Mexico is not our friend."

While he softened his stance Wednesday, saying to Peña Nieto, "I call you a friend" and lavishing praise on the Mexican people, many will be focused on his speech in Phoenix, Ariz., Wednesday night that will be focused on the topic of immigration.

Ramos has had many brush ups with the Republican presidential nominee, including when the campaign escorted him out of one of Trump's press conferences last year.

As with any summit between world leaders, the content of the discussions was probably fully negotiated in advance of the meeting.

Another reason why in the political game, Donald Trump is playing Grandmaster level chess and the Clinton camp is playing tiddlywinks.

A hominid Mexican TV news anchor with an enlarged Pinocchio proboscis is flinging poo at Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto for inviting Donald Trump, the next US president, to Mexico City.

Jorge Ramos, a nobody, criticized the president of Mexico, Peña Nieto for not holding Trump accountable for some of his previous rhetoric on illegal immigration and Mexican-Americans.

Perhaps Jorge Ramos should take a look at exactly what Donald Trump said about illegal immigrants and crime, rather than putting Jorge Ramos own words into Trumps mouth because Jorge does not like Donald Trump.

Maybe Jorge should stop getting his information from the DNC and CNN, and start thinking for himself!

Well, there ya go!

I guess the dust-up with Univision that Trump had in the early part of the campaign is easily explainable then. Wasn’t that something about the Miss Universe Pageant?

Thank you! :)

Ha! Jorge Ramos has been insulted by Mexico president Nieto. Hey Ramos, you’re nothing but a reporter and one with an inflated ego.
= = =

Jorge, get a sex-change and you can compete for MEgyn Kelly’s job.

I thought that Ramos was an AMERICAN CITIZEN, not a Mexican one.

Can someone document what he is? If he’s an American citizen, then why is he criticizing the President of Mexico, a foreign country that he chose to leave for the US?

Poor George!
