Mark Levin aka "The Great One" has always been a great constitutional conservative and great friend of Free Republic. Doesn't post much anymore but has had an account here (holdonnow) from nearly the beginning. He stood up for FR when his good friend Hannity was running us down. Also when O'Reilly accused us of not moderating our forum good enough against racism.
I hate to see our good friend getting trashed on FR. I understand why people are upset with him over his position against Trump, but best advice I can give is if you can't stand him, don't listen. I had to quit listening to Beck several years ago after he went nuts, and now rarely tune in Limbaugh. I click on the Mark Levin Show, maybe once per week, just to see if our old trusted ally is back. Sadly, he's still missing in action.
I pray that Rush and Mark come to their senses pretty soon and realize that the primaries are over and the great constitutional conservative Ted Cruz lost. Badly.
We can't go back and we cannot replace our candidate. It's Trump or Hillary. We have to do all we possibly can to make sure Hillary is defeated! And that starts with not bad-mouthing OUR candidate.
There are no do overs and no crying in politics.
Notice that I said "OUR" candidate. This is not like when the GOPe with their big donor bucks installed one of their own sure-losers as the Republican candidate (McCain, Romney, et al) and then told us to suck it up. Which most of us did, even Levin and Limbaugh, because we knew the damage that Obama would do to our country. And he did. And Hillary's damage will be even more severe because she'll be building on Obama's slide into godless socialism and she'll have an immediate shot at packing the courts with godless liberal activists. These judges will be with us for a lifetime. And their rulings for generations. She'll also grant amnesty and voting rights to millions of illegals and throw open our borders to millions more. And then fling the borders wide open for the Muslims. Yup. Sharia law would be coming to a country near you. And the failing Obamacare? No problem. HillaryCare's single payer system will straighten that right out. And she'll save our planet from "climate change" by killing off all our capitalist industries.
Trump was voted in by we the rebellious grassroots voters who are sick and tired and fed up and said NO MAS to the political ruling class and their open borders donors.
This is a voter rebellion and Trump is OUR champion.
We fully intend to crush Hillary and the uniparty in November and reclaim America for AMERICANS!!
Why did we choose Trump to be our champion:
Secure the borders. Build the wall. Enforce the law. End sanctuary cities. Do whatever is humanly possible in deporting as many illegals as we possibly can and or dry up their prospects by enforcing the law and many of them will leave on their own volition.
Slap a temporary moratorium on Muslim immigration until we can find out what in the hell is going on! Meanwhile, bomb the shit out of ISIS. And take their oil. And find out what's going on in the mosques.
Rebuild the military!
Throw out Obama's illegal/unconstitutional executive orders and executive agreements. Repeal Obamacare!
Get a handle on trade deals and make sure Americans come first!
Cut the taxes, cut the spending, cut the regulations, cut the government; return the powers and functions reserved to the states back to the states per the constitution and the 10th amendment.
And it's not just about the constitution and national security:
End the ridiculous war on coal, gas & oil, bring back manufacturing. Drill, baby, drill; mine, baby, mine; build, baby, build, farm, baby, farm, produce, baby, produce. The Business of America is business.
Strengthen our economy and create a business friendly environment!
Jobs, baby, jobs!!
Set our people free and let them produce and prosper!!
This is the voter rebellion we've all been longing for. Even bigger than the tea party. Pray Levin and Rush join us. We need their full-throated support to ensure the defeat of the corrupt, America-hating, capitalism-hating, God-hating Hillary and the election of OUR candidate. Donald Trump!!

I am also worried about the recent postings that Obama is going to allow DHS to "supervise" the election to prevent interference by foreign entities. Since elections are conducted by the states, those states with republican governors do not concern me, but states that are controlled by the Dems might be "stolen" from Trump by DHS. What do you think?

Sorry, but the primary season is over. The convention has ended and the GOP candidate has been chosen. As far as I'm concerned, Levin is now to me nothing better than an infantry soldier that frags his own.
You are spot on . I wish FReepers would quit bashing Rush . And I actually saw one of these Freepers trashing hannity yesterday ! Makes me think someone has an alternative agenda .

From a conservative perspective, there seem to be maybe one or two ideological reasons not to support Trump.
But there are no real reasons not to. I hope Levin will see this.

If you are listening, you aren’t hearing. Rush is being a little too cute. Maybe too smart for you. He is trying to win back listeners while still opposing Trump.
He is NOT on the Trump bandwagon. In the very beginning he was. Then.... someone got to him and like John Roberts all of a sudden he did a 180 and was anti Trump and still is.
Pay attention, you’ll see.
I respect and fully agree with what you have said here, Jim. Rush continues to be less than enthusiastic about Trump and often shows disdain for Trump supporters, as well. At least Rush is happy to vote for Trump because the alternative is far worse.
As I last heard about Mark, he was still providing all sorts of guidance around how his predictions of Trump make Trump too awful to consider for his vote. He was telling others they should see it the same.
I know Mark Levin is a well-intended man and a nice guy. I am thankful for him and the constructive help he has provided to move the country forward in healthy ways.
It is always uncomfortable to tell a friend that he’s not leading his life in an appropriate, healthy direction.
I fear this is where I’m at with Mark.
One more thing. Trump sure has smoked the fakers out into the open daylight.

Levin has been a conservative champion for decades. He deserves our friendship. Trashing him doesn’t benefit FR, conservatism, or Trump. Jim did the right thing 100%.
I banned a few, but most of those I took action against were put on suspension. And for most, that was only after Trump was the clear winner. And I’ve let all of those who were suspended back in after the primary was officially over. But most of those immediately went back to trashing Trump or trashing his supporters or trashing FR and so were suspended again. And we repeated that exercise (unsuspend, and resuspend them again after they trash Trump) just recently and got the same results. I’ll probably try it again in late September or early October to see how many came to their senses.
If any suspended antitrumper/nevertrumper wants to come back into the fold, all they have to do is email me and ensure me they’re fully onboard the Trump train.
I let everyone know a long time ago with a series of posts that we are not going to repeat the mistakes of the prior two elections where posters were more or less free to trash our candidates (McCain and Romney) right up to the election. FR is going to do all we possibly can to defeat the communist democrat and elect OUR pro-America candidate.
Those who wish to trash him are free to do so—elsewhere.
Which means what? I don’t recall calling Mark names.

I used to listen to Mark all the time, I just can’t and won’t anymore.
He says he can't understand how Trump supporters can be so irrational that they can't be swayed from Trump. He says Trump has gone back on the immigrant stuff (Trump hasn't, as of yet) and that it's like Trump to have no compass. Rush is a dumb@ss, and yet I pay to hear him on Rush 24/7.
At least I'm not paying to be insulted by Mark Levin.

I love Mark, mostly I miss him. I miss his humor and clarity, his wisdom and perspective.
Right now, I simply can’t listen to him but will not trash him.
I hope he figures out the primaries are over, his guy didn’t win and we simply must not allow Hillary to get in the Oval Office. It would serve him well to get behind Trump. It’s time to stop demonizing him.
