Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Stir Crazy, died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. His nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said he died of complications from Alzheimers disease. He was 83.
He had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1989.

"Good, maybe that means the end of all of those silly Willy Wonka memes."
That depends on where Gilda is at.
Let’s all sing in his honor. “Springtime for Hitler and Germany....”
Who would photograph the poor man in that condition?
Seems cruel to me.
Oh, wow. I had no idea he was in his 80’s. He had a rare, strange sort of comedic genius. I’ve enjoyed so many of his performances.
Sad.
remember the Oompa Loompas?
early test audiences and black activist panicked at the idea that they were actually Africans so they had to paint them blue or something.
it was such a huge hullabaloo that at the time the movie almost was not made only because of the Hang-Ups about the Oompa Loompas.
This is somewhat surprising.
If I had been asked to guess, I would have supposed he had been "memed" to death on Facebook.
OH DAMN IT..sorry for my language but just damn, just saw Willy Wonka a few days ago, they show it a lot here, a true ICON, he will be missed
Wow ... RIP to a very funny man.
Young Frankenstein will always be one of my favorite movies.
So much talent between those two.
Americans are VERY good at living in fantasyland .... so I posted the picture
Truly a comic genius...
RIP...
HAH ... you’ll never see “Song Of The South” on American TV ever again .... ever.
Gene Wilder brought Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory to life. Without him, it would never have been the hit that it was. Johnny Depp was just too weird in that character but that was probably due to Tim Burton’s inherent weirdness and direction.
My, what knockers!
