That one and Silver Streak. How many times can you watch a movie?
A very funny man who has a great body of work left behind.
May the angels sing him home
Who am I to judge?
To correct you, there is nothing wrong with saying “RIP”
At the same time we are not God and I will leave it at that.
Oh I am sure they are laughing up a storm
That’s Frahnk - en - steen
That's only one of many movies you couldn't remake today.
He was such a ham!!!
What a great duo those two were. Couldn’t be more different.
Buck Henry and Mel Brooks were the creators of Get Smart.
Zero was another comedic genius.
His role (Abe Greenburg) in “The Hot Rock” was hilarious.
I knew he was a writer, but I thought he was great on SNL, surprised he had so few acting credits.
He made me laugh a lot. I will always remember Gene and Richard Pryor came to our sleepy little town (back then) Brea California in 1975 to shoot some exterior scenes for Silver Streak. At that time there were a lot of early 20th century period buildings. Now nothing left but shinny sterile chrome, steel and glass new buildings.
Our hesitance to ‘judge’ perpetuates falsehood. There is a deadly cliff ahead, and while some may have gone over to their doom, the ones headed that way could be warned. Instead our culture is to reinforce the notion that because the dead are now quiet (dead) they are at peace. Consequently, those still marching toward hell assume the best for themselves. We do have a duty to warn.
Forgive my taking you on personally, because my comments are really directed to the many here who have said the same thing. I am sure that fundamentally we agree.
My Wife wanted our daughter’s first name or her middle name to be Abby. Being a huge Mel Brooks fan I couldn’t for the reason stated in your picture!
But she is now 30 and her favorite movie growing up was Young Frankenstein.
...and I’m glad you did. Even old the hair said a bunch, and the smile. We all will hopefully get at least that far. We come in a helpless babe, may we not quite go out the same way.
Jerry Seinfeld has this online show called "Comedians in Cars, Getting Coffee". It's a good insight to the mind of a comedian.
One of the episodes is with Mel and Carl. It was sad and funny: two widowers ordering dinner from Subway and watching Jeopardy together every evening. (S1/Episode 9)
