An unlicensed illegal alien from Honduras caused massive casualties in bus crash. ABC News Reported: Two people were killed and 41 were injured when a charter bus driven by a man without a license who is in the U.S. illegally crashed into vehicles at the scene of a previous minor accident on Interstate 10 near La Place, according to the Louisiana State Police.
One of the people killed was a district fire chief from the St. John the Baptist Fire Department, Louisiana State Police Trooper Melissa Matey said. The bus driver, Denis Yasmir Amaya Rodriguez, is from the Honduras and is in the U.S. illegally, Matey said.
The people on the bus, which is owned by AM Party Bus/Christina’s Transportation, were "daily hires" who were in the area to do construction and rebuild following the devastating flooding that hit Louisiana, she said.
The bus, driven by 37-year-old Denis Yasmir Amaya Rodriguez of Honduras, was carrying 24 people
who were headed to work on flood relief efforts, police said. Criminal charges are pending
against Rodriguez, who has no driver’s license and entered the U.S. illegally, said Trooper
Melissa Matey, spokeswoman for the State Police.

How in the world does someone without a commercial driver’s license get a job driving
a Party Bus much less one used as a transport bus? Lawsuits will abound.
The driver of the bus, Denis Yasmir Amaya Rodriguez, a Honduran national, was booked on
two counts of negligent homicide, negligent injuring, reckless operation and driving
without a license.
Amaya, 37, told the authorities he did not have permission to be living in the country,
said Trooper Melissa Matey, a State Police spokeswoman.

The two dozen passengers on the bus, most of whom are foreign nationals, received minor
to moderate injuries, Matey said.
Investigators were still working to determine who hired the workers, who had been traveling
from New Orleans to the devastated Baton Rouge region. The workers appeared to be working
for a construction company, Matey said.
Amaya had been living at an apartment complex in Metairie near Grace King High School and
also made his living in construction, according to three of his neighbors. Court records show
he had been pulled over by State Police on Aug. 5 on I-10 in Jefferson Parish and cited for
driving without a license.

Sounds like this is more on the construction company than the bus company. They probably hired the bus, said they would provide their own driver, then had a meeting with the workers and asked, en espanol, “Can any of you guys drive a bus?”
The Govenor wanted to regulate and control the Cajun Navy. The Govenor wanted them to sign releases in case they got their untrained asses in trouble.
Will the good Gov. demand the same from these illegals???

If you are on the side of the road NEVER put your back to traffic. Do not stand between 2 vehicles parked close together.
Many years ago we were working a nothing wreck when the ladies husband comes flying up, pulls off the highway onto the ice that his wife crashed on and proceeds to drag the right side of his car down the guardrail. Had I not yelled and jumped it, the car would have taken my legs off, or worse.
