Washington (CNN)Maine Gov. Paul LePage left an expletive-laced voicemail for a state lawmaker that goaded him to "prove that I'm a racist" after a series of controversial comments once again put the governor in the news.
LePage left the message for Democratic State Rep. Drew Gattine on Thursday, according to the Portland Press Herald, which also was the first to obtain audio of the voicemail. The uncensored audio message, also shared with CNN, contains several explicit phrases. The bombastic Republican governor is known for his loose style, which sometimes draws criticism. He is a strong supporter of Donald Trump, and Trump's campaign recently hired his daughter to work on the race in Maine.

That’s why the Dems do it. Republicans run scared at the word.
Ya know, it’s become such a common, overused accusation (and one used to maximum hypocrisy) that I’d just grin if someone did it. It would be my opening to make mince meat out of their position.
Actually he could do like Trump and sue him for defamation of character. Being publicly called a racist to a high profile Governor is pretty out there in my opinion. LePage needs to make him eat those words in a court of law
Trump hasn’t done a lot of that lately, in fact I haven’t even heard of it.
It’s better in the long run to let a lie fall flat — this is what so called political Teflon is about.
I live in Maine.
The local TV stations show the booking photos of individuals arrested for crimes, and they air these booking photos on the local news broadcasts.
Most of the heroin dealers coming into Maine are coming from New York City, Connecticut and Massachusetts and yes, most of them are black and “Hispanic.”
The local guys and gals arrested for operating meth labs are white.
By the way, the governor of Maine has an adopted son who is now an adult, and who happens to be black.
There are gang members from NYC, Bloods, Crips etc that have been arrested in Maine for selling drugs.

He didn’t take the bait. He asked the socialist **** to make it public because he wants to get publicity for challenging him. He’s fighting back. It’s about time the GOP took on Dems for the complete low life trolls they are.
