Trump: No Citizenship For People In US Illegally For Long Period, But ‘They’ll Pay Back Taxes,’ ...

On Wednesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump stated that people who have been in the US illegally for a long period of time won’t get citizenship “have to pay taxes, there’s no amnesty as such. There’s no amnesty. But we work with them.”

Trump was asked, [relevant exchange begins around 3:30] “[Y]ou’re not a criminal alien, you committed no crimes, but you didn’t respect our laws and sovereignty. You also seem to be indicating there might be something other than they have to go back. Am I reading that right?”

He answered, “Look, we have to follow the laws of our country.”

Trump then asked the audience what should be done about people who have been in the US for a long time and has been “terrific.”

After asking this question of his audience two more times, Trump was asked, “So, you’re saying there is — and you have been sort of indicating that there’ll be some flexibility that you — originally you had said they were all out, and there was a big brouhaha, but you’re saying that if somebody can prove that they’ve been here, proven to be a citizen, but here’s the big question, though, no citizenship?”

Trump responded, “No citizenship. Let me go a step further, they’ll pay back taxes, they have to pay taxes, there’s no amnesty as such. There’s no amnesty. But we work with them.

All Trump will have accomplished, will be to give them one more way to bilk the system.

Sheer genius...

Trump says he will enforce the law and build a wall. What more can we ask for at this point with a useless GOP Congress?

Bingo.

“I’m not sure why you refuse to acknowledge it, but Trump polled the crowd and stated he thinks we should find a way to let the nice ones stay.”

Just watched that portion of the segment over again from 6 to the 13 minute mark ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi0ak58ZIwE ) when Trump began polling the crowd. At NO TIME did he say he was going to allow folks to stay. He did ask the crowd what they thought & commented on what he hears from folks on the campaign trail. He said NOTHING to indicate a change in his thinking. Your argument is completely without merit because what you claim he said...didn’t happen.

Everyone who is concerned about his immigration positions should contact him/his people. It is important that he hear from us.

I think his new campaign manager is behind his use of the word “softening”. That word sucked. In my message I told him to (and I used caps) SOUND TOUGH, TALK TOUGH AND ACT TOUGH!

:-D

Thanks for that critical piece of information. Possibly they would have to apply for the work permit after the fact and hopefully Trump and congress could strip away the citizenship provision as punishment? Still this is no deal for the US taxpayer. As I said on a prior post, the US taxpayer ultimately has to pay for the safety net that provides education, healthcare, and other government assistance to these criminals and their families. In their quest for cheap labor and higher profits, big business has screwed the pooch for the rest of us.

Essentially I did the same thing.

I also explained again, that we have in excess of 30 million here. I know he is aware of that, because he has said as much at different times.

I also explained that these people are loyal to Mexico, not the United States.

>Just how can either the invader or the IRS figure out what those back taxes should be? Invaders keep tax records and W2 forms? Even if they did you have to make quite a bit of over the table income to require any taxes need to be paid.

Actually the IRS does have the figures since tax credits is how they collect welfare. Not that I believe Trump on this issue. I’m going to vote for him, but I’m done defending him. Amnesty will screw us just as it’s screwed California.

Thanks for looking that up, LJ. I’m on my tablet, and it’s a pain to do searches, copy and paste, etc.

It’s astonishing to see a FReeper so easily manipulated by the Dem/GOPe Trump voter suppression campaign. Buy a clue: This is psywar going on here. Don’t be a dupe.

You know folks, I support Trump, but I’m not buying off on allowing everyone who has screwed our system for 15 years to stay.

If we deport them, they go through a full vetting process, that’s one thing. Allowing them to stay in country and simply go file papers, will not vet them.

We want to get rid of all the criminal element.

They could have a record a mile long in Mexico, but have not been caught committing a serious crime here yet.

We need to have them go through a process in Mexico, and then let them back in if that’s what folks want.

That is a bare minimum.

When he starts to make overtures to falling below that, I’m going to speak up.

If you don’t like it, get in contact with his campaign and urge him to stick to his original plan.

You don’t get it. This is all campaign hot air right now. All you well intentioned (or not) nervous nellies are doing is feeding the Trump vote suppression campaign with innuendo and negative conjecture.

I’m sure the Hillary-Lyin Ryan administration will have an amnesty plan you will love. Focus your fire whee it belongs. On her.

LOL. This is the fist major disagreement I’ve had with him.

It’s based on his own antics on the Hannity program.

I would urge you to contact his campaign and urge them to tell him to knock off the intimations he’s going to morph his initial plan.

As for me helping Hillary, legalizing illegals in place IS her plan hot shot.

So now, who is urging we support Hillary?

Sorry, Trump never promised Operation Wetback 2.0. If that is your daydream you need to face reality. The beltway GOP is worthless, has shown ZERO evidence they will support a Trump agenda and he isn’t going to be elected King.

Trump is going to triangulate this issue and you either need to support him or start making plans for CINC Hillary and her SCOTUS.

Campaign hot air is exactly what it is.

Having a hair-trigger on being irrational makes it hard to see this.
