“These ancient brick buildings were just flattened. Prayers for the families of the lost and missing.”

Must have. 6.2 is not that big when buildings are up to code.

It makes one wonder how these very old structures made it intact up to now. These areas must have historically dodged quakes of this magnitude.

There have always been earthquakes, but the fact that these towns had none of this magnitude for hundreds of years is significant. One of the signs of the coming Judgment Day is earthquakes. Always be prepared.

Color me insensitive..... another opportunity for Billary to steal from those in need.

Prayers that these people and those in Myanmar get the help they need quickly.

Some of the most ancient and religious areas of Italy were hit hard - mountainous villages with centuries old homes that have just been erased.

I pray for the families as I have been to this region several times and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Fortunately my friends are all ok, but that won’t be the case for many. The death toll will rise as the quake hit in the middle of the night.

This is a huge story! Can’t believe there’s so little about it.

Historical note:
On this day (August 24), in the year 79 AD, Vesuvius erupted and buried the towns of Pompeii & Herculaneum.

We were just in Italy earlier this month...a week in the town of Loro Ciuffenna (about midway between Florence & Arezzo) & then a few days in Rome. Those old stone buildings are beautiful, but definitely not something to be in during an earthquake!

I didn’t think 6.2 was all that destructive, particularly in an area prone to these events.

Bammy is not going to help the Italians. He sent $50,000 to the victims of an earthquake a few years ago, a deliberate insult.

Hope I’m wrong, but it looks like that 73 number will climb.

My heart goes out to them.
