Yeah...we have mesquites. They get about 10 feet tall at best. LOL! So you can see over the top of our “forest”. :)

I kept waiting and refreshing, ready for the jump, but nothing happened. He and his son must still be saving the world - - and eating popsicles. LOL

LOL! He’ll wish he’d put that popcicle into the freezer for a bit.

But happy he is having a good visit with his son. :)

Yep, definitely not tall enough to suit eagles.

There must be some older nests in the area because I hear owls hoo-hooing at night not all that far off. If they’re great horned owls, we know they don’t build nests; they take over eagle nests.

It’s fun messin’ with them. If I’m outside and hear them, I’ll “hoo” at them. You can hear the “?” in their hoos after that - - “Hoo is that strange owl?” :-)

OK...I am a Blue Jay, the provincial bird of Prince Edward Island, which is interesting because it is the ancestral home of my Inuit Elder Family.

It would indeed!

Sometimes they start moving in this direction to find that dratted “stranger”. Their “hoos” get closer as they move. I used to stop before they got too close because the cats were outside at night and I didn’t want to take chances. A couple are small and light enough to be carted off!
Don’t have to worry about it nowadays since the cats are inside at night.

But there’ll be owls flying over the fields after the beans are harvested. They’ll be able to see mice then. Dinner!

It says I’m a raven but I thought that I’m more of a blue jay. They are related so I guess I was close.

An Audubon friend sent out the quiz a week ago.

I am a Raven too...

She said a lot of her friends ended up being Ravens and her husband was a Blue Jay...:^)

Our farm and all the others around here. :-)
We never see them but can follow their travels over the fields by their occasional screeches as they scare the mice into moving so they can see them.

I know they fly and hunt during the day but I have yet to see one here. And we can’t see them at night because it’s so dark. We can just hear them.

Well, this night owl had better fly away and get sleep. I'm off tomorrow, but I don't want to sleep the entire day! :)

WOOHOO! A day off! Hope it’s a good one for ya.

I’ll be heading for bed shortly. Our state senator is holding a townhall tomorrow and I plan to attend. She usually has some interesting things to throw out at us and I look forward to it. Even though it means getting up a little early. LOL!

Good night and sleep well!

A very pleasant good Wednesday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks, LUV W for this morning's thread.

Here is the result I got

Result: You Are a Bald Eagle!

You’re strong and powerful, yet extremely gentle with babies. You are a loner who is loyal to your family. You can stick with a project for years. You can wander long distances searching for the best fishing spots.

About Bald Eagles

The Bald Eagle was chosen as the national emblem of the United States in 1792, and has been a spiritual symbol for Native Americans for far longer. We treasure it for its magnificent beauty and strength. A pair of eagles builds a huge stick nest in a large tree, often a white pine, and returns to the nest year after year, repairing and strengthening it as needed. Eagles eat fish, seabirds, and a wide variety of other prey, including road-killed animals. They often grab and fly off with fish caught by Osprey.
