Kirsten Powers, a regular on Fox News for the past decade, is switching channels.
Powers is joining CNN as a political analyst, effective immediately, CNN announced Monday morning. She will continue to write columns for USA Today. Her first appearance will be on "Anderson Cooper 360" Monday night.
Powers is the fourth Fox personality hired by CNN in the past 18 months, joining co-host Alisyn Camerota, liberal commentator Bob Beckel and conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham.
The timing of her move is newsworthy because it comes one month after the founding CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes, resigned under pressure amid a sexual harassment scandal. There has been press speculation about a potential "talent exodus" from Fox in the wake of Ailes' resignation. Some of Fox's biggest stars have clauses in their contracts that allow them to leave because Ailes left.
Powers brings an unpredictable set of views to television news discussions. Last year The Washington Post described her as "an antiabortion, antiwar evangelical liberal who works for Fox News."
She is also the author of "The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech."

But she’ll feel more at home there. She was a constant apologist for Shrillary and the ‘rats, anyhow. Watch out for the doorknob, Sweetie.
It’s a shame to see Kirsten go, she was the only liberal on Fox with a little intelligence and common sense. Always interesting to see her stand her ground against O’Reilly. He grilled her pretty hard sometimes, and she did well. But I won’t be watching CNN to see how she fares...
Now all Fox has are Juan Williams and Geraldo Rivera...Gerald Rivers I’m betting...both totally brain dead idiots.
I never realized Ms Ham was gone, saw that in another article just recently, sorry to see her go, she was another one that was very intelligent and made her points well. Very articulate.
Now if Kelly would just hit the road...
Plus, she's a blond eye-candy addition to a cable where most of the anchorettes and hostettes are plug-ugly both inside and out.

Maybe that’s why MKH left,
She is a widow and I don’t think she was full-time at Fox.
Marko
At least at CNN, she won’t have any viewers.
CNN is toxic.

“I never realized Ms Ham was gone, saw that in another article just recently, sorry to see her go”
—Seriously? MKH has been/is one of the biggest Never Trumpers there is. I can’t stand her and glad she’s gone.
CNN needed one good looking liberal woman to go along with their skanks.
Don’t you think Mary Katherine’s move was money as she is now widowed with two kids? I think her husband was a liberal tech guy.
Since she is Weiner’s old girlfriend, that means CNN has Weiner Envy.
Mary Katherine’s gone, Kristen’s gone, Andrea is gone, and, thanksfully, Gretchen is gone.... Wish they would take Megyn with them!
Amen, a total stoopid bitch! ...
She may be a never Trumper, that’s her business, but I stand by what I said. She is intelligent, articulate and made her points well. I couldn’t care less what her political views are, or who she supports, same as Kirsten. Both were very good at getting their points across. And Kirsten is probably the only liberal I’ll say I have any respect for at all.
You’re free to disagree, that’s fine with me, but I said what I meant and I meant what I said.
That's the persona she took on because she was on Fox News. Watch her change now that she'll be unfettered.
I want to say after her husband died?????
>>> Fox News is stuck with Juan Williams.
Correct, after JW got fired from NPR, FNC gave him a huge contract. Bad move for FNC.
Beckel I can’t stand, but at least he’s somewhat entertaining.
JW gives liberals a bad name (his typical counter argument is to shout others down), I have not found anybody who admits they like him at all.
Thanks.
You can like her all you want I could care less! But, I stand by what I said about Hamm. She’s a sell-out and used the sympathy she got after her husband’s death to trash Trump and his supporters. So you go right ahead and cheer her on.
Kelly will be gone when her contract ends. Her ratings have tanked and Fox knows she is being boycotted.
There is no difference between the two networks anymore anyway.
Wish she’d take Juan and Dana with her
