I recall reading on FR about an APP that you could add to keep you away from bad neighborhoods. Although it may have ended up that they were sued for being “racist” and had to shut the app down.

If that’s “hautedamn” shown to the left of the screen, it looks like a young female. In an Abrams and with armed escort, I would hope.
All I really knows is my own observation. We live in northern Indiana close to the steel mills. My grandmother lived in East Chicago where my grandfather my dad and lots of other men worked in the mills. It was a very mixed community and I saw black families, mom stayed home and dad worked in the mills like my dad. That was in the fifties and early sixties. Now you couldn’t pay me to walk around there, but I sure did as a child.
Anything slower than a bullet is easy.

GREAT BOOK! I think the setting was in 1980 something. Tom Wolfe really nails the cultural divide between black and white, which sadly, has not changed much.
