A new poll suggests there is at least one fellow Republican who could unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018: Rick Perry.
The former Texas governor would beat Cruz by 9 percentage points, according to the forthcoming survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. Set to be released later today, the poll found Perry would get 46 percent of the vote and Cruz 37 percent, with 18 percent saying they are not sure whom they would support…
In general, the poll shows Texas Republicans want Cruz to be their candidate for Senate again in 2018 — but not overwhelmingly. Fifty percent said they would like Cruz to be the nominee, while 43 percent said would like someone else to carry the banner.

Wow— Cruz once was the rising conservative leading the way with his boldness. The past few months has sunk him.
This is the result of Ted making an @ss of himself at the convention.
He was never the same after it too. Perhaps there is really something to it.
Cruz is Establishment... and he’s a NeverTrumper... we need to give him the boot. I don’t care who replaces him... dump him.
Maybe Cruz can tie up with Beck and the two of ‘em can be the ‘hate Trump crazies’ together.
I was happy with Cruz in the Senate so much so that he was my guy for president......until he threw temper tantrums like a 6 year old.
See if he is still a constitutional senator for the next 2 years. Perhaps he will grow up in the next 2 years. If not? Go Perry.
Yep, and I believe that is why he hates Trump so much. I think after Indiana, one of Trump’s people cut him and deal and said that they won’t run with the Inquirer story and squash it if he agrees to leave the race. With no other alternative, Cruz had to leave in order not to be publicly crucified.
He now has sour grapes over the whole thing.

When Ted announced that his VP pick was Carly I thought WTH is he doing pulling a stunt like that during the campaign? Amateur and desperate...
I wish Allen West would throw hit hat in the ring.
He lives in Texas, and both he and his wife have family in The Lone Star State.
Or, perhaps Allen West could primary Cornyn.

I knew it had legs when he was asked directly if his dad was involved and he gave an answer like: Yea he was, he was also involved in the Hindenberg, Pear Harbor, and faking the moon landing.
I knew then that the story was closer to home than everyone thought. That is a typical lying technique that most attorneys use when representing controversial public figures. It’s telling the truth via satire.
West has only been in Texas a couple of years. My guess is Texas will look for someone
with some Texas roots/history. Just my guess.
