I’ve been trying to read the threads and catch the reruns of the rallies, but haven’t been posting. We had Seafair (got to see the Blue Angels twice) 1st weekend in Aug and did some work at the family house. Got home last night after being in Long Beach, WA for the International Kite Festival for a week (with a couple of side trips to Seaside, OR). Long Beach is almost as far south as one can go and still be in WA state and is on the Pacific Ocean. Here’s the web page - scroll down to see a video of a little of the Kite Festival and the surrounding area (those of you that haven’t seen the Pacific ocean in the NW will get a little flavor of it). It shows the large kites (some are probably 20-30 feet long) on one site of the beach, but it doesn’t show any of the competitions that are scheduled daily and occur on the other side. http://kitefestival.com/events/wa-state-intl-kite-festival/

Will be heading out tomorrow for a couple of days to see my stepfather’s girlfriend and his brother and SIL who are flying in from the east coast (we found out last week that our stepfather passed away expectantly).

Trump’s speech in NC was very good (watched the other speakers last night and his speech this a.m.). I need to catch up with his other speeches from this week.

Trying to keep cool - it’s 7:30 a.m. here and already 71. Supposed to get to 93 here today (I know that’s nothing for those of you in Texas and the Midwest and east coast). Pushing a bit warm for us - back to 70s and 80s for rest of the week and back to the 90s on Fri. Fairly typical for August in Seattle.
