Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson visited Louisiana yesterday to reassure local officials and citizens in the state that President Obama cared about the victims of the devastating floods.
When asked by reporters during a press conference if President Barack Obama would take time from his vacation to visit the state, Johnson was unable to commit.

the REAL reason is that he wants to watch the final weekend of the Olympics. Why? Because that’s when the US Men’s Basketball Team plays their final games. Most of the time, all the NBA stars are opponents, so this is the only time in 4 years that all these superstars play together.
Obama has been looking for to this weekend for months, if not years. Why do you think he has all his buds with him on the island?? AND he’s shown many times already that the demands of the job of President take a distant second place to his sports & partying priorities (remember the Kennedy Center last December?)
No way is Obama going to let some inconvenient natural disaster ruin his perfectly-planned weekend.

I remember that and it was speculated that he did not act on that one pronto because British Petroleum was involved in that sorry episode and guess what was learned later: BP had given boatloads of money to his 2008 campaign.
