Why make a comment like that when it’s obvious Trump found his services useful up to now?

The street chat is that Mannafort is true and true Washington DC Establishment if there ever was such a thing. He worked for a lot of interests. The rumor was that he ingratiated himself into the campaign to get Lewandowski out, convince Trump he was as tough as The Donald, while silently sabotaging the campaign with suggestions that Trump be more genteel, more restrained, etc. In short, Mannafort fed the narrative that the GOP Elites & Democrats feasted upon almost the minute the shell game started. Trump - clearly nobody’s fool - used Mannafort to lock up the nomination. Then told him he was fired after his utility ran out. And Trump probably suspected Mannafort was basically undermining him all along, which is exactly what the elites wanted.

I always thought he had a sleazy Robert Evans-1970s-Hollywood-Producer quality that I didn’t care for.

Let Trump be Trump!

I think Trump himself realized he needed a serious speech after Milwaukee and the generally positive response to that dovetailed with the advice of his new management team.

LOL. Indeed.

The players on Trump's team, past and present, have the same goal. It's working.

Taking the Ukraine issue off the table.

Oh, Crimea River...

Seriously, at this point, whatever gets Trump elected that isn't illegal and/or murderous is what needs to be done. I suspect Manafort will land on his feet.

This does give us a bit of an indication of a Trump administration, however: Trump will be a "Captain Hook" in the sense of not letting personal loyalties get in the way of accomplishing the administration's objectives. That, if y'all remember, was not one of GWB's strong points, and it got his administration in trouble more than once.

Hillary won’t have anything all weekend to combat optics of Trump in flood ravaged areas. This is a brilliant move while Bam Bam is golfing with Larry David and Hillary sitting in her diapers with minions holding her hands.

This is truly a spectacle to behold.

Here is my take. In the Trump organization, the title of campaign manager is not a good career move.

I think you're going to find Soros as the man behind the Manafort controversy.

Manfort was a lobbyist for 25 years...working with our allies.

Rather than deal with a distraction, Manafort and Trump took the high road.

I'll bet Soros is behind the Ukraine controversy. Hell, Soros owns the Ukraine......way back into the '80s.

Psst...Hillary lost 3 of her top boot lickers via the crooked Hillary emails and the media hardly noticed.

We’re seeing a more disciplined Trump now. He’s not making harmful statements now.

Ukraine....This smells of Soros...

There are sooooo many articles of his involvement with Ukraine going back to before their independence. Also many articles of Soros on the EU.

I'm disappointed Paul Manafort is leaving the campaign as I liked him and he represented Donald Trump well in his media appearances. But then, I don't profess to know the circumstances. Maybe there was good reason for them to part ways that we are not privy to.

At any rate, he helped guide Mr. Trump through the nomination process, which looked to be getting dicey during the March/April period and for that alone, I think he served the campaign well.

Many will attempt to spin these "shake-ups" as a negative but I find it refreshing. Nobody can accuse Donald of not being decisive or afraid of making changes when he feels it necessary.

Previous nominees like Romney, McCain and Dole ran fairly static campaigns that were mostly "blah" and didn't generate enough voter enthusiasm to win.

I'm definitely encouraged by the campaign over the past week. The last few campaign speeches have been fantastic and looking forward to his Louisiana visit today and Michigan speech tonight.

Over the next few days, the Trump campaign will hold rallies in MI, OH, VA, TX, and MS.

Things seem to be cranking up big time.

Manaforte has ties to Russia and Ukraine.

The Democrats are about to have document dump regarding Clintons , the DNC and individual Democrats that could not be more damning

The Democrats only defense is to deny their authenticity and classify them as intelligence leaks

They are going to blame it on Russian spying and make the Russians and Donald Trump the issue and Manaforte is their leverage point

Trump is proactively gutting the Democrat scandal management plan to deal with wiki leaks and

“the title of campaign manager is not a good career move.”

LOL. Maybe not. As another poster has said - at the least it shows Donald Trump is not afraid to make decisive moves when the need arises. I just hope Manafort does not do a 180 on Trump despite what will be big money thrown his way to do just that.
