When NASA compared July's temperature (how did they measure that, btw) to the average temperature of the "1950 through 1980 global average," did they use satellite data from the same satellites in 1950 and 1960 as they did in 2016?
Just how does one measure the temperature of "the earth?" At the core? On the surface? Of the land? Sea? At 1000 feet up? Ten feet below in the dirt? Ten feet below in the ocean? 100 feet? From a satellite? With a huge rectal thermometer? What samples sizes did they have in 1950? In 1960?
Statistical obfuscations and outright lies.
The big question is always “what is the perfect temperature for the planet?”
Cool!
???? is that so ????? Ask the Dinosaurs to verify that statement.
Horsehockey.
How many standards did they have to change to reach this conclusion?
Which goes back, what? Maybe 150 years? A geological nanosecond..................
I remember when NASA was a respectable organization.
BTW, isn’t Ted Cruz on some committee or sub-committee for Space or NASA? I don’t hear much from him. Too busy trying to trash Trump I guess.
The “recorded history” in the context of measuring true global temperatures is the satellite era - only 35 years. In this period, it is a true statement. Misleading, but true.
Only need to go back to the 1930s to find hotter years.
From the article: “(NWS)Records go back to 1880.”
Obviously, this is quite different than what is implied in the article’s title: “...In Recorded History”
Another salient point; sampling points have changed dramatically since the early NWS records were taken. Most sampling points today are at large, open, paved airfields ...in other words “heat islands” ...which of course didn’t even exist in the 1880’s!
Has NASA conveniently forgotten 1934?
NASA is such a major disappointment to me.
>>> What samples sizes did they have in 1950? In 1960?
Was Sampling Plan: MIL Standard 105D around then?
The folks behind this crap should have insomnia pondering their fate should Americans become ACTUAL Social Justice Warriors as opposed to their fellow frauds who are currently abusing that title.
Germany froze its ass off
The thermometer was invented 400 years ago (plus or minus a couple of decades).
The Earth is 5,000,000,000 years old.
The thermometer has been around for .00001% of the earth’s history . Temperature records haven’t been kept for all that time - but let’s ignore that for the time being.
The question is, at what point do temperature records even become relevant, scientifically speaking?
Just in time to give Hillary a boost!!!
“WOLF!!!!”
Trying to stay relevant.
Want more dollars.
Their product is fear.
They must needs to debauch our virgins and throw them into the volcano.
We gots trouble! Right here in River City!
No wonder we can’t fly our own space vehicle.
NASA is too busy pushing the Global Warming agenda and aiding and abetting muslims with Obama’s Muslim Outreach program.
