NEW YORK Donald Trump is shaking up his campaign's leadership amid flagging poll numbers, NBC News has learned.
Kellyanne Conway already a senior adviser to the campaign told NBC News she has been promoted to the role of campaign manager. She confirmed that Paul Manafort will stay on as campaign chair but said Stephen Bannon, the co-founder of conservative Breitbart News, will come on board as campaign CEO.
The moves were first reported by The Wall Street Journal and mark yet another round of internal shakeups for a campaign that seems to be struggling to find consistent footing.
I want to win," Trump told the newspaper. "That's why I'm bringing on fantastic people who know how to win and love to win."
The Trump campaign parted ways with controversial campaign manager Corey Lewandowski after the primaries ended, citing a new phase of the campaign.
Manafort had been unofficially filling the role of campaign manager after Lewandowski's departure, but himself has been the subject of controversy amid questions over his ties to ousted Ukrainian Prime Minister Victor Yanukovich.
Trump has been trailing in polls to rival Hillary Clinton, with some Republicans publicly pressuring the Republican National Committee to abandon Trump's bid and instead focus on down ballot races.
The latest NBC News / SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll showed Clinton leading Trump by 9 points, 50 percent to 41 percent.
I take it you didn't bother to read my posting history!
Flagging? LOL Compared to the dottering, tottering, weaving and wheezing Crooked Hillary campaign, the Trump juggernaut keeps rolling.
“I take it you didn’t bother to read my posting history!”
After reading your UniParty talking point why should I care what you have posted in the past?
Vote Trump 2016
Bringing on Bannon and promoting Conway is very good news in my opinion. Leave it to the MSM...NBC especially to portray this as a panic move.
You can't blame Manafort for that! The RNC nominated loser after loser. Dole's loss as well as McCain's and Romney's are the the fault of crummy candidates, not poor campaign management.

If you think there will be a “conservative” revival in four years with Lord Cruz if Trump loses forget it! There will be no Republican Party to speak of if that happens because most of us supporting Trump will go independent and wait for a new nationalist based party to emerge.
I predict that the absence of a sarc tag is going to cause you some grief!
The MSM only cites polls that benefit Hillary the most and act as if no other polls exist. Their campaign for Hillary is faltering big time.
It was actually almost word for word what Begala said. My mistake was omitting quote marks.
As for grief, my twitlist has unlimited capacity ;-)
How many people on here would be outraged if Trump tried to hire Larry Sanders on as a consultant for PR purposes?
Totally and morally lost.

So, who the heck is in charge at this point?
Trump said General Fynn WILL be involved in the briefing to make sure he is getting straight briefing !!!!
The news six months from now:
NBC continues to bleed viewers. Network on life support. Advertisers demand rate cuts. NBC News voted best fiction program by viewers. Twenty-five network shows canceled. NBC executives recruit undocumented aliens to fill positions at network. Sham-Wow! buys six months of network time for $10,000 to sell its new broom and mop line.
I forgot about the IRS stuff. Of course-—Trump moving him out before HE becomes the issue.
Honestly, I think Trump should divide his speeches into thirds: 1st third, comes out and fires up the crowd...2nd third goes on prompter for serious issues, final 3rd, off the cuff going out with a bang.
Trump is the only one really in charge of course—the final arbiter. In some ways this might look like a repeat of the power struggles between Lewandowski and Manafort, but Conway is coming on board already knowing Manafort’s position, so she shouldn’t be left with any resentment over it. Yahoo News referred to Bannon’s position in a different manner than this article—not as a CEO but as something I thought that sounded subordinate to campaign manager. We’ll have to wait and see what his function is vis-à-vis Conway and Manafort.
One might question Trump having so many key figures in his campaign but his business is doing well led by his three oldest kids, each with their own realm of responsibility. And I think it was time for a needed shift.
Trump
“Miami media is ONLY talking about the staff changes. Not a single word on the content of Trumps speech.”
Of course, they dont want to report on anything substantive he says anymore. They know hes convincing. The best thing for them is to hope hardly anyone watches what Trump has to say first hand.
