I don’t believe they are confused. Truly there is such an entity as a useful idiot but that does not apply to 90% to 95% the professional political class of Never Trumpers. I gather you infer that these people are content with the status quo in which they profit and want to keep the game going as is and have hitched their carts to the PC wagon train that eventually leads to a one world globalist utopia behemoth of interdependent everything diversity.
I would argue that there is a PE power Elite class in the west and around the world that exists and whom seem invincible in their power and plans for the world. Many think that belief and line of reasoning to be conspiratorial and naive and would in a spirit of contrariness always seek to explain things using reasoning like Occam’s razor which is a defense against evil if evil is always attributed to just blind stupidity or greed.
I think these people are knowingly sold and bought and part of a treasonous psyops as there existed people like this in 20th century totalitarian societies. In the Soviet Union plenty of people became informers and worked for the state. For example a man’s wife might leave him especially for standing on principle - (Christian beliefs, anti-Marxist views ext...) that would endanger his family and likely result in the family being imprisoned or killed in the end. The wife might have him arrested so she could go with a provider and someone down with and willing to cooperate as an accomplice with a corrupt vision in order to prosper in a crazy PC world.
If by personal inadequacy you refer to the resulting state of being PC behavior and thought imbues as an accomplice in lies that is a form of emasculation; corruption begets more corruption, I could agree with that aspect.
Then there is the quality of a Spiritual war and fight now occurring as always but reaching a crescendo in this generation. As more than a nominal Christian I believe many have blind spots and weak links the enemy exploits. This is especially true concerning Israel and it’s role and the promises and blessings of God made to Israel in His word and how one interprets them. Just as Gamaliel the Pharisee warned in Acts 5 to let Peter and the other apostles go free or they may in the end be found fighting directly against God and his plans many in the modern day head to such advice in their witting or unwitting pursuit of a modern day globalist Babylon. Even Christians will be on the wrong side all over a not so small error in theological understanding of God and his total plan of salvation which to many must exclude the Jewish people and the land of Israel except for in a mystical/spiritual sense. This leads to a major division in the church which I don’t seek to go down but that does exist and will see itself corrected one way or another.

enough for now...

You are making the analysis much too complicated. It really is not. There may be a handful of individuals--certainly not 90 to 95% of those to whom you refer--but a few genuinely evil people, such as George Soros--pulling some of the strings, here. But I have been engaged in dealing with the type of politically correct, pseudo Conservatives, as well as the sort of "Liberals" and moderates, who apologize for their heritage, for many decades; and most of them are dupes; most of both groups are dupes; they are and have long been played by those having various agenda.

Soros, the Clintons, Obama, of course know what they are doing--as do others less prominent. But even those truly evil are not necessarily driven by the same motivations. The one sure way to fight them, that is effective, is the way Trump usually does so; that is focusing more on the stupidity of what they do, from a rational policy perspective, rather than simply speculating on their motives. Betrayal is betrayal, whether motivated by a belief that a new order is idealistic, or by simply a malicious intention to destroy a people's heritage.

I do not suggest that we do not explore the murky world of international intrigue. Security concerns dictate that we do. But for purposes of a political campaign, the stupidity factor in the betrayal is the more effective approach. Anything else helps the malefactors raise public doubts as to our own intentions.
