Violence and protests erupted in Milwaukee overnight after a man was fatally shot by police during a foot chase.
Police said the victim, 23, was armed with a handgun and shot dead by an officer after fleeing a traffic stop on Milwaukee's north side Saturday afternoon.
Hours later angry crowds took to the streets, smashing a police car and setting fire to another. One officer was injured by a flying brick; a gas station and auto-parts store were set alight. Police said gunshots were heard.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett pleaded for calm at an early morning news conference, asking residents to "do everything" to help restore order.
"If you love your son, if you love your daughter, text them, call them, pull them by the ears and get 'em home," he said.

I have multiple articles about this event and have yet to find article or story to point to where ANYONE (police, government or elected officials) are trying to prevent this from flaring up tonight,
THEY want this to happen and are doing nothing tangible to prevent it.

What I would like to know is why the mayor told the police to stand down and let the arson happen. I believe that the law in Michigan allows deadly force to be used against arsonists,
like many jurisdictions.
The arsonists should have been shot in the process of lighting up buildings, regardless of what race they were and regardless of what their so called demands were.
Thats the duty the Mayor bit off when he took his oath of office.
The MAyor should be impeached, forthwith.
They simply hate the (in their view) racist and oppressive police and see thugs as victims. They don’t want the cops to arrest black criminals (disparate incarceration rates and all that), nor do they want black neighborhoods policed (even though that will produce many more black victims). I even know white leftists who think this way.
Just to mention too, in his 2000 book, The American We Deserve, Trump talked about a lot of his wealthy friends giving their sympathy to the criminals rather than the victims. He thought that was really misguided, but that’s the direction many of our cities are headed in and the results are going to be devastating.
So, now that these geniuses burned their own city, how many points does Trump gain in Wisconsin?
We are in the early stages of the coming Social War. If present trends continue whites will lose the war dying by the millions.
Looks like the people of Wisconsin need Paul Ryan to step in and restore peace and order with his mere presence. With his bleeding heart, Ryan can douse all the flames, literally and figuratively.

Any extra info on the shooting itself? I see that they found a gun and 23 rounds of ammo, but no details on the shooting itself. Was it a gunfight? Was the guy waving the gun around? Was the gun in a pocket or backpack and only found after the shooting?

This is very dangerous. Police and law enforcement will just quit. We are looking at anarchy. I guess that is what the communists want. If they had reasonable positions on abuse, I could support them on a fact based situation but they humiliate themselves with crap like Ferguson and their disastrous failure to even get a single conviction in Baltimore. I don’t know of a single convection of an officer anywhere. There is no shame even when their lies and contrived stories are brutally exposed as lies.
