The Texas senators decision to not endorse the GOP nominee is looking pretty good right now.
WASHINGTON Immediately after Sen. Ted Cruz walked offstage at the GOP convention in Cleveland last month without endorsing Donald Trump, the Texas conservative and former presidential primary rival appeared to have made a grave miscalculation. (snip)
But after a week of Trump repeatedly setting himself on fire (declining even to wait for the previous fire to go out), politicians who endorsed Trump, such as House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), have found themselves feeling the heat, while Cruzs decision is starting to look like the better long-term bet. The panic within the party spread so much last week that several high-profile Trump supporters reportedly began contemplating staging an intervention with the candidate.
And Cruz, in rare fashion, has let the fire rage without adding his own gasoline. Hes doing a remarkable job staying quiet and letting people come to that conclusion on their own, said Amanda Carpenter, a longtime adviser to Cruz.
While those close to Cruz were confident the decision not to endorse would be the right one in the end, the quickness with which its panning out has been a bit of a surprise. Trump blew his own convention. While predictable, it still boggles the mind it happened, Carpenter said. Trump is like a tornado. You know its going to be devastating when it rips through your house but the aftermath is still shocking.
Cruz is well-positioned for a 2020 presidential bid should he succeed in resuscitating his image he took home nearly 600 delegates this cycle with the aid of an impressive grassroots organization. (snip)

Clearly, you don't know how to read posting history.
Stop lying. CTR buys up exsiting accounts just for this purpose. Hillary is destroying honest political discussion with Correct the Record crap.
>And the stakes are greater than Cruzs insatiable ambition or the survival of a party.
Indeed.
It’s sad too, Cruz could have been an asset to the cause instead of a zero.
What the hell is wrong with you, newbie?
I’ve been a prolific poster since 1998. Go to hell.
I would cash in my life savings in 2019 and go to as many of Ted's events as I could, yelling at the top of my lungs, Idiot Born in Canada Ineligible to be President! God did not anoint you to be king of the world in spite of the hogwash your daddy told you!
I won’t vote for Cruz for re-election to the senate! I’m done with him!
Who is this Ted Cruz of which you speak?
Trump will not implode. But the MSM will.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think this was a 2DV thread from April.
I agree.
I gave money to Cruz in two cycles. But he is dead to me forever. I'll never help or vote for him again
Cruz will be the modern version of George Romney and Rockefeller, they stabbed Goldwater in the back. This will be the way Cruz is seen. Big donors won’t want to back him. Rocky had, of course, a lot of money at that I think.
Cruz already got the last laugh.
It’s on him too.
Adios Ted!
Rabies is a serious business, watch out for the drool frothing from your monitor when you read the Huffpo....
Why do they call it “implosion” when the media, the DNC (redundant - I know), and the GOP establishment are all flinging bombs at him?
Kinda reminds you of McCain in 2000 doesn’t it.
After McCain lost the 2000 primary he proved I was right, he’s just a McSWINE.
I may not even be around in 2020, but if cruz is a candidate I will vote for Lojack James.
And my Old Jack died last December 20th.
No - he isn't. If Trump goes down, it will be, in pat, because Cruz helped with the betrayal of the People.
