Donald Trump has led in polling against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, and will "bounce back again," according to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
In an interview to air Sunday with businessman John Catsimatidis on "The Cats Roundtable," Gingrich acknowledged the last two weeks have been "tough" on the GOP nominee, but he called the post-convention political climate "a period of turmoil," The Hill reports, posting the remarks ahead of the show.
"[P]eople need to remember, just before those two weeks, he was ahead in every poll, so the chance for him to bounce back again I think is very real," Gingrich said.

Pi$$ off, Gingrich.
You’re yesterday’s news.
As long as he can avoid the morons like Megyn Kelly or Kahn he’ll do fine.
He may have made a very minor gaffe in one circumstance, but nothing like what Hillary does.
What are you smoking?
Gingrich should sometimes just keep his mouth shut. Of course Trump can turn this around, matter of fact, the polls show that Clinton’s bounce is coming back to earth. There are 90 days left, and that’s a long time in politics. Clinton still has WikiLeaks hanging over her head, her verbal fumble about “short circuiting” and her continuous lying. There is also a legitimate argument to be made that she just isn’t healthy enough to even withstand the rigors of a campaign, much less the presidency.
I hope so. Bounce and stay bounced.
Why did he pulled it?
Share this with any hardcore libertarians, nevertrumpers and the folks who are still upset that Jesus Himself was not physically available to run for president of the US. Do you suppose our current candidates are His way of telling us if we don’t mend our ways, He has MUCH WORSE IN STORE? If we chose the positively and demonstrably WORST CANDIDATE of the two (you know her name), that “WORSE” part is less than a year away! Just sayin’!
If you object to the author’s title, please remember that God has, indeed, DAMNED many peoples and nations throughout history. Join me in praying that, even at this late hour, America somehow can remain off that sad list.
And if you are one who objects to my mention of the very same
“Creator” the Founding Fathers referred to in our founding documents, we’re probably already doomed.
Here endth the sermon!

We spoke to a source who works at Nate Silvers political advocacy group fivethirtyeight.com.
RealTrueNews: Is it fair to say that Silver is worried?
538 Source: In a panic. Our business model is predicated on making liberals feel better about the election. Right now? Its a disaster.
RTN: So what are you doing?
538: Well, were changing the model for starters. There were a few hours when the server was showing the real projections and while traffic was pretty high, let me tell you, it was a melt-down politically.
RTN: What do you mean?
538: Well, Nates a liberal. No secret there. When he saw what was happening he flipped out. Had us look for bugssomething gone wronglooking at the feeds. Of course nothing was wrong. Nothing had changed. Then he got on the phone with his people embedded with Q-Pac and Survey Monkey and PPP and all those guys
RTN:Waitembedded?
538: Huh? Oh, yeahits a big social club. The pollsters all work together. We have a Slack-room thats sharing all kinds of results and skews and all that. Thats how we keep it all orderly.
RTN: Orderly?
538: Surewhat? You think its . . . random? Come on. Who do you think pays for the polls? People who want results. Youre buying media. Its like ads or . . . I dont know. Like newspaper stories? You pay 30k for a poll of Florida, it says what you want.
RTN: But what about on election day?
538: Ohwe drive it. You set the expectations ahead of time. Its called pre-loading. Youd be surprised how we can fine-tune things. Mass belief is powerful. The problem here is (a) not everyone plays nice. Fox is rogue. Rasmussen was . . . bad. They were doing real polling. Also, theres like a game of chicken. At the start of the cycle we do real polling so that everyone knows how they better buy in. This time . . . Trump just caught us by surprise. The impact was so bigit came on so fastHillary just collapsed.
RTN:Whatwhat happens next?
538: I dont know, man. There are a bunch of smaller groups out there doing real polls. I dont know if anyone can keep this under wraps. They had to talk Silver off the edge of the building yesterday. It was bad.
RTN: He was literally going to throw himself out a window?
538: Yeahhe waswell, but were on the second floor. He was just really pissed. I mean, he got a call from the White House telling him to fix it and shit.
RTN: Wow.
538: Wow is right.
The media did their usual number to make Newt look unfriendly. Newt did just fine....but you have to watch his entire dissertation...not the out of context media quotes.
If you are going to have a bad week or two better to do it in August than October. Trump will snap back in the next several weeks.
Haven’t a clue and I didn’t see Drudge’s page earlier since I was busy this morning.
“Donald Trump has led in polling against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, and will “bounce back again,” according to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.”
Oh, STFU, Newt. You’re smart enough not to put an ounce of faith in these polls - why are you talking as if there’s anything for Trump to bounce back FROM?
With friends like these...
..Trump doesn’t have to turn anything around, because he is ahead. The polls are cooked. Pat Caddell has made some revealing comments on recent polling...
There is absolutely no reason to think Trump wont turn all of this around in a decisive way.
Why do people think temporary blips must mean aggregate trends?
If the blips are good news for the liberals, then the media will magnify such blips into some larger trend away from Trump.
If Hillary ever has a bad week, or slips in polls, the media will not report the same way they have pounded on Trump recently.
We’d all be a lot better off if the hand-wringers who want to talk about and criticize any perceived shortcoming they can find in our candidate would just shut the hell up and support him instead. The primaries are over for crying out loud. It’s down to Trump or Hillary! Make your decision and let’s take positive action!! Quit worrying about the idiot advisers and pundits who want to mold the man into their idea of the perfect freaking politician. And stop worrying about the commie press and their phony push polls. Get a grip!
Go, TRUMP!!
“If you are going to have a bad week or two better to do it in August than October. Trump will snap back in the next several weeks.”
But that’s just the point - he DIDN’T have a bad week, or a disastrous week (as the media would have you believe) or anything else - it’s just a media fabrication repeated over and over again, and then stories about the story until what’s actually TRUE has been lost in a sea of self-important talking heads pushing an agenda to destroy our country and our society (for what reason, I still haven’t been able to figure out, since these nitwits have to live here TOO).
I’m all in for Trump but he had a bad week. It happens to every candidate at some point. Its not that big of a deal except with the MSM.
Duh to Newt
Amen. The die is cast. There is only ONE choice to make.
From his bitterness of not being the VP pick? Apparently not.
