Vero Beach, FL - (TRUNEWS) U.S. Senator John McCain recorded a Tokyo Rose-style propaganda message that was broadcast on North Vietnamese radio in 1969.
TRUNEWS, a nonprofit Christian digital news app, obtained the bombshell audio recording and released it today on the organizations daily newscast hosted by Rick Wiles. TRUNEWS acquired the audio recording in cooperation with WeSearchR.com, a new media company founded by Charles Johnson.
The 1969 North Vietnamese radio broadcast has never been heard in the United States of America. In fact, there has never been any knowledge that such a recording existed. The audio recording was found in a misplaced file in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. The broadcast was recorded by the Foreign Broadcast Information Service, a branch of the CIA that monitored international shortwave and foreign radio broadcasts.
Lt. Commander John McCain was shot down over Hanoi by a North Vietnamese missile while flying his 23rd bombing mission. Both of his arms and one leg were broken. He was pulled ashore by North Vietnamese who took him to a prison known by POWs as the Hanoi Hilton.
McCain was a prisoner of war for five and a half years. He was released on March 14, 1973, and returned to the United States of America as a war hero. His POW legacy propelled McCain to victory in a race for a U.S. Congressional seat in Arizona in 1982. He replaced Barry Goldwater in the Senate in 1986.
In the propaganda recording, Lt. Commander McCain said he was guilty of crimes against the Vietnamese country and people. He confessed that he bombed their cities, towns, and villages and caused many injuries, even deaths, for the people of Vietnam.
He praised the medical care and kindness of his communist captors even though he came to North Vietnam as an aggressor. McCain said he wished to express his deep gratitude for their kind treatment and that he will never forget the kindness extended to him by the communist North Vietnamese.
Senator McCain is running for a sixth six-year term in the Senate. He is facing a strong primary challenge from former State Senator Dr. Kelli Ward, a physician in Lake Havasu.
The Arizona Republican Primary is August 30. Sen. McCain will turn age 80 on the day before the primary.
Here is the actual script of John McCains 1969 Tokyo Rose propaganda broadcast on North Vietnamese radio.
To the Vietnamese people and the government of the DRVN:
From John Sidney McCain, 624787, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Navy, born 29 August, 1936, Panama, home state Oregon. Shot down 26 October, 1967, A-4E aircraft.
I, as a U.S. airman, am guilty of crimes against the Vietnamese country and people. I bombed their cities, towns and villages and caused many injuries, even deaths, for the people of Vietnam.
I was captured in the capital city of Hanoi, while attacking it. After I was captured, I was taken to the hospital in Hanoi, where I received very good medical treatment. I was given an operation on my leg, which allowed me to walk again, and a cast on my right arm, which was badly broken in three places.
The doctors were very good and they knew a great deal about the practice of medicine. I remained in the hospital for some time and regained much of my health and strength. Since I arrived in the camp of detention, I received humane and lenient treatment.
I received this kind treatment and food even though I came here as an aggressor and the people who I injured have much difficulty in their living standards. I wish to express my deep gratitude for my kind treatment and I will never forget this kindness extended to me.

Ok, how about the majority of people. While some may hold out til death, most people will break under extended deprivation and torture. Of course, skeletons or maimed personnel don’t lend themselves to good propaganda.
Either way, this is not a good topic for Trump to jump into.
Yes, Lance Sijan is one.
He died.
if you recall during your SERE training, everyone has a breaking point, up to dying.
If you recall your SERE training you were taught to resist to the utmost of your ability by not to the point of dying.
If you recall your SERE training, you know how terribly tortured are POWs were and you were taught to never fault a fellow POW that broke.
The main thing I have against Juan is that he was so damned un-patriotic as to run for president.
The captivity thing is null and void as far as I am concerned. He wasn’t the only American held in Viet Nam inhuman prisons. His plane crashed but he still had a sidearm. He should have shot as many commies as he could before they could take him down.
He is beloved by the opposition and for very good reasons.
To add to the discussion I add this as a point of interest as I do not know the reliability of the source:http://powderedwigsociety.com/the-real-john-mccain-20012/
Compare and contrast McCain, Kerry and Jane Fonda for a look at the faces of treason.
I am not crazy about McCain. But I give him a pass on this. It was a long time ago and under duress. I know I can take a beating. But not every day.
I don’t think I’ve read any post up to this point calling him a hero.
I think most are pretty much agreeing that he was a man. And, as a man we can understand conditions that break average people.
I respect his ability to get out of there alive and somewhat sane.
McCain served our nation, for this I am grateful. That said, he’z lost his ever-lovin mind in years since.
McCain has lost all sense of servitude as the peoples representative. He has become pompous, arrogant and elitist.
McCain IS the problem in government and he must be removed from office.
Thank you for your service JM.
Have you been in that situation?
You hit the nail on the head and I’m standing with your analysis-even tho’ i don’t like his politics.
His 100 year old (or so) mother Roberta makes more sense than he ever will.-She’s cast iron. Haven’t heard much of her lately or what state she’s in physically or mentally but there a few yrs ago she was always ripping into something to keep going physically & her mind active and to keep herself entertained. She’s a strong woman.
“He should have shot as many commies as he could before they could take him down.”
So all the others that did not and were taken prisoner were, what, wrong?
Especially with two broken arms that today still don’t function properly.
I wouldn’t presume to judge McCain on this one, not having walked in his shoes.
Tough standard, Homer.
If we understand correctly, he was in water with at least two broken arms and a broken leg. Best case, he was in shock but not in pain. However, he clearly had structural issues and was likely struggling to keep his head above water.
I agree with others on this thread that there is nothing but risk for Trump with this issue - even if there was clear and convincing evidence his POW actions caused harm to other POW's that evidence was not properly dealt with in a timely manner.
Wounded?
Being a veteran I can be critical of those who peacefully surrender.
WTH? My #53 should have been addressed to Homer. (Not enough coffee yet.)
“He refused early repatriation and spent five and a half long years in that hell.
That tape should not be held against him.”

Ditto. I don’t like what Sen. McCain has become, but I’m gonna say that only another POW who endured like treatment has the moral authority to condemn him on this one.
Post 53
Being a veteran with multiple deployments to combat theaters, once as an USAF liaison with the Navy (on a ship), once on the ground as a FAC with the Army, and in the air as a fighter pilot, I do not hold your standard.
SERE is very informative and factual and realistic, and opens the “vault” on debriefs and experiences of POWs. You must recall what they taught you.
I knew what you meant. . .
If the goal of releasing this tape is to damage John McCain it is a mistake.
Criticise him for his political career but not his actions under extreme torture. No one can judge another in that circumstance, you resist to the best of your ability, most gave some, some gave all
