JANESVILLE, Wisconsin — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), a former GOP presidential candidate who won this state over current GOP nominee Donald Trump back during the primaries, is not backing House Speaker Paul Ryan’s re-election during his primary against Republican businessman Paul Nehlen at this point.
Cruz’s team, over the course of several emails on Friday, told Breitbart News the Senator would not at this time back Ryan for re-election to the U.S. Congress. It’s worth noting, though, that according to Cruz’s team Ryan has not asked Cruz for his endorsement. Cruz also refused to endorse Donald Trump for president, despite a primetime speaking slot at the Republican National Convention.
“Sen. Cruz likes and respects Paul Ryan,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told Breitbart News. “He considers endorsements when asked, and in this case a request wasn’t made.”

The ‘stopped clock’ Cruz isn’t running for President. If McQuueg and Ryan win their primaries he’s got to work with these guys.
And I expect these clowns to quit sniping at Trump by following the dingbats at CNN and others every other day. They better play ball with Trump and to keep their traps closed if they have nothing good to say.

Now that you mention Trump (who, it is reported, will endorse Ryan), how might Trump do this endorsion?
“I will gladly endorse Speaker Ryan if he will accept the endorsement”?
or
“Seeing that Rep. Tim Huelskamp lost, which was blamed on My endorsement, Speaker Ryan might not want my endorsement. However, I will wholeheartedly endorse him, for the sake of unity and party cooperation which is my first priority.”

It is the smart move. I think it would have been best if he had said that he doesn’t want to interfere with Republican primaries, because he certainly did not like when party leaders were interfering with his.
