Eiffel Tower evacuated with armed police and soldiers surrounded landmark
The Eiffel Tower is on lockdown after being evacuated tonight - as armed police and soldiers search tourists in central Paris.
Reports say the whole areas around the popular tourist attraction has been cordoned off.
The reason for the evacuation is not immediately clear.
Eyewitnesses described a large police presence at the scene.
Others indicated the military had been deployed “all over” the place.
Police are allowing people into the ground floor restaurant - but nobody else is allowed to venture any further - according to one report

PARIS (Reuters) - Paris police cleared tourists out of the Eiffel Tower on Friday evening, then said it had been a false alarm.
France is on high alert after a string of militant attacks, most recently last week’s murder of a priest in Normandy.

Sean Penn of the FAG, says it is slanderous for all of us to imply what we are about the people who caused evacuation of the Eiffel Tower. Of Course a certain young French politician joined the French Militia, and if she were to bag an Islamist, he'd be relegated to the lower regions, killed by an infidel woman, and a pretty one...
