The Coming Iranian Terrorism Tsunami (vanity)
8/4/2016 | Myself

Posted on 08/04/2016 11:45:51 PM PDT by Crucial

I try to be reasonable, open-minded and logical. I try not to be melodramatic or hyperbolic. What I'm about to say sounds like it flies in the face of all that but I think I'm being true to my principles.

The plane load of 400 million cash that landed in Iran on an unlit airstrip in Iran was sent in secret and was divided in multiple currencies. It is claimed that this was a promised payment that was part of an arms deal between the United States and the Shah. The Obama administration claims we owe the Iranian Republic 1.7 billion dollars. When that plane landed, the same day, American hostages were freed. The Obama administration denies it was ransom for a money.

The first problem with this is that the present Iranian regime is much more dangerous as a state sponsor of terror as the Shah was not. So we owe the Iranian government nothing. We are giving more than one billion dollars to the wrong people who are also our enemy and the enemy of free people. It's a slap in the face of Americans and victims of terrorism everywhere.

The second problem with this transfer is more troublin. The Iranians are free to distribute this free money, paid by American taxpayers, to terrorists in multiple countries with those countries' currencies without any worry that it will be traced back to Tehran. This, my fear that 400 million dollars will end up creating a tsunami wave of global terrorism.

Tehran has the means to blackmail the world with global terrorism. This is also why they desire nuclear weapons. Tehran is determined to make Iran a feared global power and Obama likely just gave them the means.

No doubt. All courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer, thanks to the fact that tens of millions of idiots elected someone (twice) that despises America and Israel as much as or more than the mullahs do. I suspect Hezbollah and Hamas will receive the bulk of it.

By slipping an enemy mole into our WH, plus buying off a few key congresscritters , the islamonazis are able to use the American taxpayers to fund ( and arm) their world- wide terror attacks and infiltration of western nations ( bringing Moslem mass - murder gangster thugs right into your local
Neighborhood ). And Hilliary wants more of the above ( since she sold out to the enemy , too).

Good point, that this money is untraceable and will fund more terror everywhere. I assume one of the reasons it was unmarked was for the kickback to certain politicians. Corruption is too civilized a term for describing our American government.

One common theme in military history is if your enemies perceive you as weak, they will try to defeat you.

You realize that the money we “gave them” is the money we froze in accounts back in 1979, don’t you? Our government (the taxpayers) did not give them any money.

No fan of the mullahs here. But it’s important to know the facts.

The “facts” don’t apply when you’re at war with an enemy determined to destroy you. This is WAR for the survival of Western Civilization and it is long past time that people opened their eyes and crawled out of their cotton padded bassinets to see the world as it really is.

You’re the ignorant one. Bet you run around saying, “That’s not who we are as a country,” to everyone who disagrees with you too. Sorry old chap, I’m extremely well educated.

“But it’s important to know the facts.”

Since you are so smart how about filling us in on the facts.

What was the original amount frozen and in what accounts?

How was it “sequestered”. Was it in CDs, US Gov. Bonds, etc?

What was the rate of interest it earned.

Amazing how it came out to a nice round figure.

Fill us in to the “FACTS”.

whatever. You are right. We should just bomb Iran into the Stone Age.

How could I imagine that anyone here would be willing to have a conversation or discussion. It is never that way on this forum. One either acts like they are sitting at a bar or church...and what is true simply doesn’t matter.

Excuse me for thinking.

Obviously you know the answers.

It’s good that we have you around. Otherwise we would think Iran is a backwater swamp.

Thank you for edumacating me.

>>>>>>”The plane load of 400 million cash that landed in Iran on an unlit airstrip in Iran was sent in secret and was divided in multiple currencies. It is claimed that this was a promised payment that was part of an arms deal between the United States and the Shah.”<<<<<<

So Carter helped the mullahs come to power, got rid of the Shah by helping the mullahs revolution, called khomeini a ‘holy-man’, proceeded to succumb to Islamic Mullah Regime’s demands when he discovered they weren’t so ‘holy’; and almost succeeded in throwing a friend of the USA (the Shah) back to the mullahs, who totally wanted to execute the Shah.

So now why do the mullahs claim ANYTHING on the Shah’s or his government’s behalf when they’ve considered the Shah and his gov’t null and void for over 35 years??

Equally, why does the USA still have dealings, negotiations, and more importantly pay ANY money to the Mullahs’ Regime occupying Iran, while making life as hard as can be for the average Iranian in Iran??

I’d say there is something very diabolical about all this!

these are questions that could result in a reasonable discussion. But I don’t think that Vermont Lt is interested in that. It seems to be only interested in spouting progressive talking points, all or nothing.

If Japan had made a down-payment on a steel order in the summer of 1941, with delivery to be in early 1942, should we have refunded that down-payment after the delivery was cancelled?

You’re right, sort of. It was Shah’s money. They have no claim.

I don’t know. Usually we wait until the threat becomes to great to ignore. Iran seems to be on that path.
