Ben Carson, the former neurosurgeon and past GOP presidential hopeful, suggested Wednesday that Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of a fallen Muslim American war hero, slandered Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The Khans, whose son died fighting for the United States in Iraq, have garnered national attention for their appearance at the Democratic National Convention. The searing speech delivered by Khizr Khan condemned Trump and his anti-Muslim attitude.
“I recognize that they are grieving, and very often they will say and do things out of that grief; I think we should just give them a pass and move on,” Carson said of the Khans.
“I don’t think it would be harmful if [the Khans] apologize to [Trump], and he apologizes to them. But I don’t see that happening,” Carson said.
Trump and his supporters responded to the speech by attacking the family, with Trump invoking stereotypical notions of Muslim women, stating, “If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me.”

Agreed to a good extent. I can remember the other day talking about Khan and his connections with the Clintons and his shady dealings in immigration law and I could see the “you’ve got to be kidding, I did not know that before” looks on some coworkers’ faces.
Carson is right.
As for the story going away if Trump’s camp shuts up, that would be admitting defeat in Trump’s view. That’s not in his DNA.
Additionally the propaganda organs would not make it go away - they would consider it a notch in their belt and would hit Trump with it over the head at every opportunity.
The media are enemy number one - he heads to eviscerate them like he did during the primaries.
Carson was talking about Trump apologizing to the Khan’s and the Khan’s apologizing to Trump. I don’t see either one happening.
The media is mad that he won’t play their rigged game.

We are way beyond apologies now. This has gone too far. I asked a muslim shop keeper I know at a gas station if he heard Khan speaking at the DNC. He said “Yes.” I said, “I’ll bet you did.” and walked off. Hope he got the message with nothing on which to hang an accusation. Nothing else was said. All of them are to be held responsible for not publicly denouncing the radical muslims like Khan and his ilk. If they don’t, then they approve of what is said and done and are guilty as well.
Exactly. Better start denouncing that garbage or when something starts, they are going to be in trouble.

I realize this is the enemy, but the phrase in the opening paragraph "the former neurosurgeon and past GOP presidential hopeful" is totally unnecessary verbiage and distracts from the main point. Everyone reading an on-line forum knows who Ben Carson is, or can select the name and Google it if they do not.
It is just an example of how bad writing delays getting to the point you are trying to make
I think that Carson said that Trump is the one who DESERVES the apology.

I agree. This Khan issue only helps Trump. The more it is out there, the more people learn.
I used to say the internet was good at fighting the MSM. Well, that was before social media. The real story gets out there surprisingly well through social media.

More and more people know about what Khan has done for a living and who he REALLY is.
CNN let Kahn talk for what seemed like forever a few days ago, and the longer he went on, the more repulsive and repetitive he became. His wife was like a frightened robot, pale as death, making strange grimances as he spoke. They need to get that guy out of the spotlight fast.
Yes, Khan should be exposed for what his own life has been all about. He was most likely brought in by the likes of Jihadist terrorist organization, CAIR. He is most likely part of that network. There are many of CAIR and friends of CAIR operatives who are close advisers to both Hillary and Obama. CAIR operates to whitewash radical Islam all over the U.S., with many offices.
