Ben Carson, the former neurosurgeon and past GOP presidential hopeful, suggested Wednesday that Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of a fallen Muslim American war hero, slandered Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The Khans, whose son died fighting for the United States in Iraq, have garnered national attention for their appearance at the Democratic National Convention. The searing speech delivered by Khizr Khan condemned Trump and his anti-Muslim attitude.
“I recognize that they are grieving, and very often they will say and do things out of that grief; I think we should just give them a pass and move on,” Carson said of the Khans.
“I don’t think it would be harmful if [the Khans] apologize to [Trump], and he apologizes to them. But I don’t see that happening,” Carson said.
Trump and his supporters responded to the speech by attacking the family, with Trump invoking stereotypical notions of Muslim women, stating, “If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me.”

This whole story might go away if people like Carson stopped keeping it alive.
Good for clear thinker Carson! As the grungy background of Khan has emerged it validates Carson’s viewpoint and also redeems Trump’s position. Khan’s adherence to Sharia Law makes it likely that his wife only got permission to speak after Trump’s comments. Of course all of this will be ignored by the MSM so best to avoid such traps.

Trump exposed the abject subjugation of women that Islam REQUIRES and asked the MEDIA to enlighten him as to their understanding. The response was...crickets.

Accusing someone of having a “dark soul” is pretty severe and deserves a response - a dead son 12 years ago doesn’t automatically buy you protection for a statement like that.
They are not grieving. They are democrat Muslim liars.

I’m not sure if it should go away. It seems to be exposing the tight bond between Clinton and the forces that would destroy America. Trump picked a scab and it exposed some very ugly truths. I don’t think he should back away. He wasn’t the one fabricating a story to get sympathy votes. The entire Kahn event was supposed to be a well orchestrated hit on Trump, but it backfired once there was a closer look at Kahn and his ties to The Clintons, and anti-American groups and ideologies. Trump is the only one with the balls to call out the lies.
i agree. it’s a non story. their son died serving our country. He is a hero. but now we’re making Khan the Elder, a living martyr in the media. let it go and move on to the security and prosperity our country needs.
