Donald Trump responded to an appearance by a Muslim lawyer at the Democratic convention by saying he "would like to hear his wife say something."
One of the highlights of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia was a speech by Muslim lawyer Khizr Khan, who was accompanied by his wife Ghazala, about their son, a Marine who died in Iraq back in 2004. Khan at one point held up a pocket-sized version of the Constitution and asked if Trump ever read it.
"I'd liked to hear his wife say something," Trump said in an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.
Trump elaborated on Khan's comments during an excerpt of an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC's This Week that will air Sunday.

I agree w/ this wholeheartedly. If someone wants to speak out on an issue, they should be prepared to hear an opposing viewpoint.
The tapes show Trump appearing to be callous towards a grieving mother, which the MSM will play up. My p.o.v. was that Trump didn’t need to give the appearance of going after a Gold Star mother.
But yes, Trump is entitled to voice his opinion on someone who speaks out against him. But as even Trump said .. it wasn’t the mother speaking at the DNC.
He didn’t go after her. He said he would like to hear her say something, So would I. As you well know most Muslim women have no voice regarding anything even in the USA. I would have liked her husband to allow her to say something.

I’d like to know if I missed the speech from the Baptist, Catholic or Jewish parents for their dead soldiers? These people were not selected because their son died in Iraq, they were selected because they are Muslim. 14 Muslim soldiers have died in combat since 9/11, less than one a year. Just like the Nazis, the Democrats now have a religious test to determine patriotism.
As a devout Muslim will Mr. Khan acknowledge that his son is in Hell?

We just disagree on how this interview can make Trump look callous and indifferent to the mother’s sacrifice. Trump’s intent isn’t what the MSM will focus on. The MSM will play up any faux outrage that gets more viewership.
