Trump says 'of course I'm being sarcastic' with comment about Russian hackers looking for Hillary's emails

Republican nominee insists he was not being serious when he seemed to invite Russia to scour for 33,000 emails Hillary Clinton ordered deleted He had said Wednesday: 'Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing' Trump insisted Thursday that the Democratic Party's other email scandal – 20,000 hacked messages published by WikiLeaks – is the real story 'This is now an issue of national security,' said a breathless Robby Mook, who runs Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign Donald Trump insisted on Thursday that he wasn't being serious when he said a day earlier that he hoped Russian hackers found the more than 33,000 emails Hillary Clinton deleted from her private server.

'Of course I'm being sarcastic,' Trump said in an interview with the 'Fox & Friends' morning show, emphasizing that he had no way of knowing that Russian hackers had scoured Clinton's emails before she began culling them.

And he said the Democratic Party's other email scandal – 20,000 hacked messages published by WikiLeaks – is the real story. 'They have no idea if it's Russia, if it's China, if it's somebody else. Who knows who it is?' 'But you have 33,000 e-mails deleted. And the real problem is what was said on those e-mails from the Democratic National Committee.'

The email breach has proved an embarrassment to the Democratic National Committee, whose chairwoman announced her resignation this week.

The hacked messages 'talk about religion, they talk about race, they talk about all sorts of things, including women,' Trump vented on Thursday.

'What they said on those emails is a disgrace. It's disgraceful. It's disgraceful. They're just trying to deflect from that.'

This a just the beginning. People, even people here, will say he’s got to tone it down, never realizing that any attempt to placate the media will not only not call them off, but will signify (true) weakness, and doom his candidacy

The media is just getting started with Trump v Hillary. Just now

Mark Levin was all over this yesterday. No callers-Just a couple. What is his goal?

This is Trump.

The media lies are universal and in synch with the DNC.

That’s all. In history these Clinton Obama people will likely be vilified. Imagine Michelle Obama with her eight figure vacations on a six figure salary going on about slavery while my 50 hour a week paycheck goes to the government once a month. A week of work every month taken away from me by the government

This is a good composite of her lying about those emails

love the way they show her through the years at the end with scandals. need more of it.

Leave it to the lib media to take an obvious joke and twist it into the end of the world espionage request.

It tells me they are panicked.

Mark Levin was ‘all over this’ how? Did he think Trump was serious, or was Levin laughing at the media for falling for this like Rush was?

And what exactly would they hack?

Hasn't Hillary's home brew server been out of operation for awhile?

Dam you hand wringers don’t think

....it’s not an invite to hack if you’re asking if they have deleted emails..

You by definition can’t steal something that no longer exist!! (Hillary’s contention when she was subpoenaed for them)

Your ask the Russians to turnover something they hacked in the past

Which because they were evidence in a criminal prosecution Russians are required to do by International treaty signed by Bill Clinton

will you quit listening to mainstream media spin

How does one hack a server that is unplugged, decommissioned, sitting in a storage unit someplace? Plus it has been deleted as well. Media people are not that bright, or they think their viewers are total morons

One does not hack the decommissioned server. Instead, one hacks the server while it is still in commission. One then waits, and waits... until long after the server has been decommissioned... and Hillary thinks that all of the incriminating evidence has been destroyed (by her lawyers, at her behest, because they were "only personal" e-mails - though the lawyers - who had no Security Clearance - allegedly used only an imperfect "word filter" to fish out the private communications)... and THEN!

Regards,

-- Media people are not that bright, or they think their viewers are total morons --

Those aren't mutually exclusive. Even after this exchange, CNN continues to push their fictional news that Trump called for Russia to hack into US state secrets.

CAMEROTA: You say that Putin is pushing us around. That's not how Donald Trump frames it. He seems to have been somewhat complimentary towards Putin's leadership. And as you know, yesterday, he seemed to invite Russia to hack into Hillary Clinton's e-mails. What did you think when you heard him say that?

GIULIANI: Well, first of all, I know what he meant when he said it, because I got a call from his campaign manager.

CUOMO: Was it your idea that he say that?

GIULIANI: No. He was telling a joke. When he got off the plane, he tweeted out, the e-mails should be sent to the FBI. He was joking around. Now, let's analyze this for a minute. According to Hillary Clinton, if she's telling the truth, which 65 percent of the American people believe she's incapable of, but if she's telling the truth, there's nothing on those e-mails that has anything do with national security. This is the stuff she destroyed.

CUOMO: Right.

GIULIANI: It's all about Chelsea's dress, her recipes.

CUOMO: Right. So what's the point there?

GIULIANI: The point there is, there's no national security implication to any of it. Second, it doesn't exist.

CAMEROTA: Yes.

GIULIANI: Third, I will - I will be willing to give you a 98 percent guarantee the Russians already have it.

CAMEROTA: But isn't the point that Americans don't know when Donald Trump is joking.

CNN New day - July 28, 2016

These people are mentally defective (stupid), dishonest, and manipulative.

Cuomo asks "what's the point" just after Giuliani tells him the point is that "nothing on those e-mails that has anything do with national security." And then in conclusion, the point changes, totally, to the next phony outrage. "But isn't the point that Americans don't know when Donald Trump is joking."

The media work environment is loaded with mental defectives. They flock together, they are like-minded.

You completely miss the point of my post.

He gave them ammunition to run with and I knew it would happen as soon as I heard it.

I don’t think it was some brilliant plan as Rush seem to suggest. It was him talking off the cuff like he does saying things that come to his head.

The man is a genius and he nailed them right where they cannot look, laugh nor defend.

Their now ingrained PC malware basically has them hard-wired to NOT ignore Trump's taunt, almost forcing them to take the bait and spring the trap on themselves!

I was listening to NPR yesterday while mowing the yard and it was all they could talk about.

Listening to their spin is almost always like a taking a carnival ride and it really made me dizzy yesterday.

What a hoot! Who knew elections could be so much fun?

Actually, the DNC first mentioned the Russians being the hackers. Trump simply mocked them (quite masterfully) and sent them careening off into conspiracy theory territory.

This is how you fight... you give hits you take it..

in this case Trump is a fighter and has no fear of taking hits and giving hit .....he’s Landing hits at a ratio of 500 to every Hillary’s one.. and Trump is completely unfazed when he takes a hit because all he really cares about is giving more hits than he takes.... that’s how you win fights and Achieve victory you gotta be willing to get bloody to bloody your opponent

I’ve come to realize problem with our hand wringers is there always afraid to take any hit... so they always afraid of a fight and run from it and that’s why they always lose

Hillary’s server is mothballed but the emails that were originally on it are on other servers now. For example, the FBI says it recovered most of them, so we know they are available to anyone who can hack the FBI.

They could also be present on the servers of any party that hacked Hillary’s server before it was wiped with a cloth, or who subsequently received the hacked data.

Obviously the disconnected, decommissioned and dusty server is wireless. Those tricky Russians know that it is wireless. They can still hack it.

I think that Trump should ask his old buddy, Putin, whom he has never met nor does he have business in Russia to send over their ace hacking tea, to find those emails that the FIB couldn't. It would be a great show of multicounty cooperation.

This man does not say anything that he does not mean to say...But it was brilliant. As soon as his press conference was over the talking heads on CNN were exploding.
THEY themselves brought up that it would be a National Security issue if the Russians had those missing 33,000 Emails
LMAO!!! Why is that?
I thought they were all about weddings..etc...

You have no idea who you are talking to apparently. Just because someone has a problem with something Trump says doesn’t mean they are anti-trump.

"This was a risky joke by Donald,..."

imo, this was no joke.

more like a sarcastic slap in the face to the FBI for not being able to locate the 33,000 emails out there somewhere in cyberspace, while the Ruskie's may have more capability to recover this batch of evidence that was destroyed while under subpoena than our own law enforcement agency.

plus trump planted a seed to re-direct attention & question the lies, obstruction of justice, and treason of hildabeast private server scandal.

plus he dominated the news cycle right in the middle of the DNC nominating convention.
