So simple, I am shocked you did not figure out why $10.
It is the amount required to disqualify a single person from welfare benefits in most states.

Would you prefer if the person is given welfare, food stamps, rent subsidy, heat subsidy, and other free stuff and not have to drag his/her butt to work every day?

It is “the amount required” NOW, but when $10 minimum wage passes, you can get your democrat that the “amount required to disqualify for a single person from welfare benefits” will RISE to account for the minimum wage. It is pure economics that the minimum wage sets the FLOOR! How hard is it to understand? If “we” are for $10 minimum wage, we might as well be for $15, because in 2 years, it will be $15. Then, it will be $30 in the next 5 years.
