Donald Trump Challenges Russia to Find Hillary Clinton’s Missing Emails
New York Times ^ | JULY 27, 2016 | ASHLEY PARKER

Posted on 07/27/2016 9:38:31 AM PDT by reaganaut1

DORAL, Fla. — Donald J. Trump said Wednesday that he hoped Russia had hacked Hillary Clinton’s email, essentially sanctioning a foreign power’s cyberspying of a secretary of state’s correspondence.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said, staring directly into the cameras. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the U.S. presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers, which researchers have concluded was likely the work of two Russian intelligence agencies.

Later in the news conference, when asked if he was really urging a foreign nation to hack into the private email server of Mrs. Clinton, or at least meddle in the nation’s elections, he dismissed the question. “That’s up to the president,” Mr. Trump said, before finally telling the female questioner to “be quiet — let the president talk to them.”

The Clinton campaign immediately accused Mr. Trump of both encouraging Russian espionage against the United States and meddling in domestic politics.

“This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent,” said Jake Sullivan, Mrs. Clinton’s chief foreign policy adviser. “This has gone from being a mattter of curiosity, and a matter of politics, to being a national security issue.”

Mr. Trump has largely dismissed assertions that Russia was behind the Democratic committee breach as conspiracy theories — a view he reiterated again when he said the hack “is probably not Russia.”

A pathetic unforced error.

Not! This is funny and brilliant!

Was anyone still talking about Hillary's server and emails anymore? Nope. Old news

Trump just put it back in the spotlight, he made a joke out of the media, and he took the focus away from Bill!

The man is a genius!

Sarcasm is totally lost on the media

Maybe, but IMHO I think they are so conditioned to go FULL BORE BALLISTIC PSYCHO whenever a non-dem says anything beyond “Yes Sir may I have another”, they just cant help themselves, and go after Trupt again and again. They are not used to anyone taking it back to them.

The danger is if the Russians actually do have the emails and do not release them. That means HRC is open to BLACKMAIL

Yes, he is a genius at handling the press. I was so curious that I youtube his press conference.

He was respectful, but in control. He answered the questions without talking around the question. Direct answers.

I have heard politicians talk around the question that is asked and then ask the questioner if that answered the question. When, in fact, it didn't.

Its superb.

In the aftermath of Hellary clinching the nomination, all the press are talking about are her emails again.

Every day the news leads with a story about her emails, Trump win an extra votes.

The way he has played the media here is perhaps the most masterful management of them in the history of the republic

Hacking private email servers at the DNC is a matter of national security WHY, exactly??

Because if Hillary isn't the next president, no one will protect Obama's many secrets... like his funding of ISIS, his support for the Muslim Brotherhood, and so on. This could cause a huge upheaval in government, especially for Congress who allowed him to do many illegal things.

No biggie. The “missing emails” are about yoga classes and Chelsea’s wedding.

No you don’t get what Pence is doing. He’s the equivalent of the guy who needs to explain the joke because the Press is either to stupid or willfully refuses to realize the punchline. He’s like saying, ‘Come on you imbeciles, if Russia is involved in these emails shame on them. Lol

Keep reading on the thread. Let others explain Trump's plan to you.

Disclosure: you have to have a sense of humor to fully understand Master Trump!

Assange has said it was NOT hacked : it was leaked — big difference!
He even suggested it could have been done by murdered DNC IT staff member.

Whenever it looks like Hillary is going down with the ship, Trump always throws her a life raft! WHY? WHY? WHY?

This was so obviously said tongue in cheek based on what he said just before this. I knew it would be THE media headline.

I’m sorry, but I saw the whole Trump comment as completely tongue-in-cheek. Since the DNC is accusing the Russians of releasing their documents, why not crack wise about them finding the other missing stuff? I know I probably would have done the same thing in that circumstance.

The fact the New York Crimes and the rest of the LSM, not to mention all the good little lie-berals nationwide, are having conniptions over this comment makes it that much more satisfying!

How is she open to blackmail? If she is president who will prosecute? Congress? A Supreme Court loaded with her picks? The Press?

Surely you jest.
