Based on traditional campaign markers and guideposts, experts predict Trump will go down in humiliating defeat to Hillary Clinton. I think they are wrong, folks. Michael Jackson said, I'm not like other guys. I say Donald Trump is not like other politicians.
When Trump announced his bid for the White House, snooty political elites laughed, Look at this idiot. They had no idea that millions of Americans at home watching were saying, Yeah! Right on! I like this guy!
Polls continue to tighten between Trump and Hillary. I suspect some of Hillary's lead is due to voters lying to pollsters that they will vote for the first woman president, similar to the Bradley Effect. In 1982, California voters did not want to be thought of as racist so they lied to pollsters saying they would vote for Tom Bradley, the black candidate. Despite a strong lead according to the polls, Bradley lost his bid for governor.
Another thing that may cause voters to lie to pollsters is their fear of being on the wrong side of political correctness. Voters have seen what happens to anyone who speaks out against Leftist's sacred cow issues. Trump has become the king of political incorrectness. Therefore, some voters feel they must keep the fact that they agree with Trump a secret.
I believe the Trumpster will win the White House for three simple reasons. One: His name recognition. Two: His connection with the common man. Three: American's disgust with the direction our country is going.
Admittedly, the following anecdotes are not scientific, but I think they are quite telling.

Trump fills stadiums. Hillary barely fills nursing homes.
My three reasons -
1. Hillary
2. Hillary
3. Hillary
There are plenty of reasons to vote for Trump and more than a few to be nervous about him, but from the beginning - prior to the start of the primaries it was ABH - anybody but her - for me.
My sentiments exactly. He has made me cringe many times, but that is the risk when you have someone who speaks his mind without getting it approved by his advisers first. When it is pointed out that what has been said would cause problems, he revises his position and moves on, like the rest of us do. I spent three weeks at the Western Washington Fair manning a display we set up honoring Vietnam Veterans. Our co-conspirator joined the army when he was 18 and didn't leave until he was forced to when he turned 60. Needless to say he was very opinionated and made frequent comments that offended visitors, but I love the guy and would vote for him over Hillary any day of the week.
The FBI admits publically it can’t properly vet Sryian migrants.
Trump wants to suspend immigration of Syrian migrants until such time as we have a means to get them.
Hillary wants to increase migration by 650%.
What other reason do you need?
I pose this to liberals all the time.
I'll bet their response is, "SO?"
I’ll take a bold truth teller over a smooth talking liar any day of the year. Also, I don’t get this theory that we all have a right to not be offended. So ridiculous!
Kaine in that pic looks the The Joker with that smile of his.
Yup. And Trump is one smart and clever celebrity, very successful, and of course loaded. The LIV’s are going to break for Trump big time.
I’ve never put much stock in The Bradley Effect. However, this year I might. Unless I am around fellow conservatives, I don’t mention that I am voting for Trump. People at work could accuse me of racism. People at restaurants could taint my food. I won’t put up yard signs this year for fear of vandalism. I bet there are lots of silent Trump supporters.
LS, great post, as usual. We have nitpicked in the past but that is a sublime, well-summated post...
I was saying it because I was closely watching early voting #s in OH by party, and GOP was up and Dems were way down. That led me to think OH was safe and that this was a national trend. Except . . .
OH has a law that if you don’t vote in the primary you are listed as “I”. So there were these huge #s of “I”s who were really Dems who did not vote in the 2012 primary.
As Mammy Yokum used to say, “Good is better than evil because it’s nicer.”
That seems to be enough for a majority of Republicans.
Pray God that it’s enough for a majority of voters, and therefore a majority of electors.
Trump is speaking the truth, the truth hurts. Hillary does have one advantage, the dead always vote for democrats. In the last presidential election there were approximately 12 million dead people that voted. While that is a small percentage of the total it would have been enough to get Romney elected.
I'm certainly glad Romney did not run again, or at least did not win in the primaries that he thought he could steal.
I have a feeling that Trump will win by more than any president ever, at least I sure hope that is the case.
12 million dead that voted ... where did you get that number?
Has it been vetted? I would like to use that against some lib relatives but only if I have some rock solid proof.
Kaine looks like the PW’d husband so many female Hillary supporters have.
I’m convinced that’s part of why she picked him.
The vocal liberals I know all proclaim that it’s eeeeeeevil not to let in anybody who wants to come to the US. They live in a magical world where everything is as they wish it to be, or at least it would be that way if those evil conservatives would just stop ruining it for them.
It amazes me that anyone could vote for the vile Hillary, but we will see. Nothing surprised me any more when it comes to the gullibility of the American voter.
