Many FReepers who frequent the Canteen threads might know MeekMom (known to many as Kristin). MeekMom passed away on July 15, 2016, at the age of 50. She was born March 11, 1966 in Indianapolis, IN and passed away at home in Valparaiso, IN of natural causes.
Besides her sweet and loving Maine Coon cat Elsa, who lived with her, she leaves behind one son, her parents, one brother and one sister; as well as a niece and nephew who she loved dearly. She also leaves behind countless friends she made over the years online. But she spoke often of Free Republic's founder Jim Robinson as a "dear sweet man" and FR's own Kathy In Alaska, who she considered her online "Ma".
Kristin was Conservative to the core and a traditionalist at heart. She loved this country and it's military and she admired anyone who shared her values and principles and love of the LORD.
Kristin lived her life at it's fullest, despite what life threw at her; whether it was years of depression or struggling with the small fiber sensory neuropathy she acquired later in her life.
Besides the countless friendships she made on FR, her love of classical music, movies from yesteryear, Hercule Poirot, Alfred Hitchcock films, Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie novels sustained her.
She will be missed immensely by those who knew her. May Kristin (MeekMom) Rest In Eternal Peace.
Prayers for the dear departed.
She loved all who posted in The Canteen as well. She always told me The Canteen and the Prayer Warrior threads were her favorite two places to be on FR.
May God Bless
Peace to you, Kristin.

May God comfort her family and friends.
I am so sad. What took her from us? She was so young. Prayers up for her loved ones. I will miss her.
May she rest in peace and eternal life.
She had great taste! May she rest in peace.
The coroner said natural causes but personally I think it may have been a heart attack. She had mentioned to me several years ago, not long after we met in 2003, that she had an enlarged heart which puts a person at a higher risk for a heart attack. She had a pacemaker put in about a month ago to correct an irregular heart beat.
Truly sorry to read this. Prayers for all who loved her.
RIP, Meeky.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing, prayers for the family.
Prayers up
Prayers and condolences
RIP. How very sad — only 50.
My condolences to all who knew and loved Kristin. May Kristin rest in peace.
Prayers for you, her family and friends! Too too young! Stay strong Big Sky
It is always so sad when we lose one of our Freeper family members. Kristin is one I shall miss while at the same time knowing that she is finally pain free. She has suffered much torture from the Neuropathy. Many prayers have been raised for her to be pain free. She was a dear sweet soul and will be missed. May she rest in God’s arms, and her family be comforted.
