Benghazi victim's mother calls on Trump to stop invoking son's death

The mother of the U.S. ambassador killed in the 2012 Benghazi attacks called on Republicans to stop invoking her son on Friday, blasting their references to his death as “opportunistic and cynical.”

“As Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens’s mother, I am writing to object to any mention of his name and death in Benghazi, Libya, by Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican Party,” Mary F. Commanday wrote in a letter to the editor published in the New York Times Friday.

Weird! Her son was killed. I have a vague recollection of Steven's parents not acting like grieving parents. Perhaps they were estranged from their son or there was something in their or their son's background that they didn't want to be uncovered.

I also have a recollection of a quote by the father, which at the time I took for a possible misquote, where he blamed Romney for the death. In any case, I have seen no demands for answers or investigation by these parents who seem to have thrown their son under the bus.
