I believe that Cruz actually hurt himself more than anyone else. I doubt if anyone will refuse to vote for Trump based on anything Cruz has said or done. He may have even committed political suicide whether Trump wins or loses.

This stings more severely than Chris Christies’ antics with Obama, because it’s so damn obvious and intentional.
And because Ted was so very well thought of not that long ago. I’ll bet Rand Paul is having a couple of private laughs.

The ONLY way Cruz comes out of this politically intact..

Is if Trump WINS and then governs as a liberals and infuriates conservatives.

I don't see this happening, but it's the only plausible scenario where this action would make him look good in hindsight.

America dodged a bullet when Cruz self destructed. He was a hypocrite so smug and full of himself. Good riddance.

There is a certain irony to Cruz telling the citizenry to vote their consciences:

Going into the convention, thegreenpapers.com showed Trump with 1,441 hard delegates and Cruz with 551 hard delegates.

At the Convention, Trump got 1,725 delegate votes and Cruz got 484, so 67 ‘unbound’ delegates apparently voted for Trump over Cruz.

Apparently, some of Cruz’s hard delegates voted their consciences and that was NOT for Cruz.

Part of the discrepancy may have been with the Alaska delegation who screwed up on their paperwork.

Ever since those who were taken in by Cruz started to stop supporting him, a lot of us said the same thing. Cruz fools a lot of people initially, with his rhetoric and lofty ideals. But, after awhile, one by one, folks see through it. Once someone sees that "something", it's creepy to even watch or listen to him anymore. It never goes away.

The convention, with Cruz's self-involved speech that seemed more like a coup attempt than anything else was just such a moment for Cruz supporters who still hadn't seen that something. I can only conclude that those who are still supporting Cruz don't care. They're part of his scheme.

The dark place comes to anyone holding onto resentment and rage like a best friend. It does no matter if you think you are right or not, humble yourself, forgive and walk away from the darkness and into the light.
