U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham urged Donald Trump to clarify his position on defending European allies after a New York Times article quoted the GOP presidential nominee as not fully supportive of the NATO alliance treaty.
Statements like these make the world more dangerous and the United States less safe, Graham, R-S.C., said this morning.
I can only imagine how our allies in NATO, particularly the Balkan states must feel after reading these comments from Mr. Trump, Graham said. Im 100 percent certain how Russian President Putin feels hes a very happy man.
Trump, in a New York Times interview today, broke from standing U.S. foreign policy in suggesting the U.S. wouldnt defend its NATO allies, including the Baltic states against Russian aggression. He cited them not fulfilling their obligation to us including through adequate military spending.
Graham called on Trump to correct his statement.

I call on Senator Linda to do something about “his” disturbing bacterial vaginosis odor.
With Turkey going hard muslim and anti-US and the EU importing Isis and massive numbers of Islamists who believe in Sharia law and who hate Israel and the US, it’s time to cut foreign entanglements.
I don’t want to be dragged into a future caliphate war. And if we have agreements to protect countries militarily, they should pay the full cost of that and be real allies - not globalists. Uncle Sucker needs a vacation.
Trump: I won’t become involved in a war the Europeans start...... again.
What other purpose does it have?
Why do you think the US, a country 3,000+ miles from Europe should pay anything? It is their continent, not ours. We paid more than our "fair share" in dead US soldiers in two world wars on foreign soil.
Furthermore we are already currently paying a fortune (more than our "fair share") supporting military installations with US personnel in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. If I were Trump, I would tell Europe, no more Santa Claus from across the pond, and Europe should be paying us protection money.
I guess if you are indeed, a "Eurotwit" you disagree with my argument.
Linda, you ignorant slut. Trump’s personality profile is not at issue here, any more than is your inability to achieve orgasm. The issue is NATO. I suppose you’d like to conduct our foreign policy the way you conduct your private life, hopping from bed to bed with anyone that can do you some good. Then what do you have? An old, reamed-out scuzz that no decent gay would be seen with. Is that what you want for America? It’s too late for you, Linda, but our country still has some dignity left, you hosebag!
Since it's all about money, how much is Trump willing to pay the other NATO countries?
They can afford to pay for their own defense.
Then withdraw from NATO and end all the speculation.
I have no problem with the US withdrawing from NATO.
If that is Trump's intent then he should be open about it. But instead he keeps talking about how much it costs to defend Estonia, how much it costs to defend Germany, how much it costs to defend this, that, and the other. So exactly how much does it cost the U.S.? Don't the countries need to know that if Trump expects them to pay for it?
No he is not.
What is your problem, it is good that Trump is actually looking closely at NATO.
