Trump handed him a rope to hang himself. Trump even admitted this in a tweet. It was actually a great move. He dismantled the never trump movement in a single blow and exposed the idiocy for all to see!
The Party is now united against the anti-Trump crowd who was led by Cruz.
Sometimes you have to let the idiots reveal themselves so that others will not follow them.
Cruz came in second. For that, I can easily see the reward of a prime time slot.
To blame Trump for allowing Cruz to rhetorically moon the whole country is backwards, IMO.
Had Trump pulled him at the last minute, the furor would be twice as much in the MSM. They will have an issue even if they have to fabricate one.
Because Trump is a brilliant man, the party is unifying behind Trump, his hated opponent committed suicide on national TV and showing the world that he is literally insane this morning. It is all good!
