I do not personally believe Cruz's statements regarding "it got personal" as anything more than moralistic excuses pulled out of thin air to mask a major blunder. We're all weeping for the state of the country but a politician in an election year actually has the ability to do something other than moan about it. That endorsement was political gold last night, but it becomes more and more worthless with each passing hour. A month from now, what will it be worth when people are going to need to be reminded who he is?
Dumb politics. We're seeing it from both sides of the aisle. This was Cruz's turn.

That’s the truth!!! I used almost those exact same words in a correspondence this morning.
This little weasel ALMOST got away with it. If he had just managed to keep his rodent mouth shut just a little bit longer, the nation would’ve been sentenced to a minimum of four more years of Obama version 2.

If he looks like he is on a bender; he probably is. It has been said here many times before. Both of his parents are alcoholics. His sister basically drank herself to death. And Ted has a documented history of problems with alcohol along with the broken corpuscles in his nose and the glassy eyes of an alcoholic. The lying, the crying, the whining, the self delusions, the apologists, the enablers, the awkward mannerisms and the girlfriends go hand and hand with alcoholism as well.
If he was as principled as we would have us believe, he would have stayed home.
This was not the venue for him to take his “principled” stand. Trump was nominated. Pence was nominated. It was Pence’s night.

Rush is on now, and fumbling badly as ever. First words were "so everybody knew in advance what Cruz would do ....". Sets the stage that Cruz is a victim. Now some light criticism of Ted for picking the wrong time to unload. Meh.
Rush, you fool. Imagine if Cruz had won and Graham or Bush pulled these stunts on your boy! Can't wait for Levin. He'll fumble even worse. This is a stubborn crowd of Cruzlims. Nothing will ever shake their faith. Even a videotape of Crux banging his interns wouldn't affect them.

Seeing the look on Ivanka’s face after Cruz talked about voting your conscious leads me to think they had some kind of agreement that Cruz would not go rouge. It would not surprise me to find out that those words were not in the copy of the speech that Jeff Roe presented them with.
If anybody has any doubts that Cruz is a DC rat, you need to know that all of the key players from his campaign are still being paid and he has actually turned his senate staff into a 2020 campaign team.
The man has no inclination to do his job as a Texas senator. He is still running for president and will always be running for president. The way to drive a stake into this evil is to primary him out of his seat.
CRuz is used to being able to talk himself out of trouble. ain’t working anymore.

My wife said virtually the same thing. She was a Cruz supporter but Ted has now turned her off to him.
